Okay the first heat was a slugfest. Let's see where we stand in Heat 2.

What? What are you talking about? I was just preparing for the unveiling.

How many damn meat smells are there? I'm voting for all non-meat smells out of protest.

Here's an odd occurrence. Coffee beans didn't get my vote in the last round, but they did in this one. I think they were in a tougher heat in Round 3.

i was thinking the same thing... CP loves meat...

And they keep getting more and more concentrated. I kept the variations in early because I thought that ribs on a smoker might be different than meat on a smoker or meat and hickory on a smoker. At some point, the differences have to emerge, it would seem.

I think the meat and sauce combined barbecue is a legitimate difference, and the best of the barbecue lot. I hope it survives the cutdown of the various meat options, because it's the pungeant tang of the sauce that really makes the smell.

If there's pungent sauce on the tang you should look elsewhere

I'm predicting a final four of hickory and meat smoking, meat on a smoker, ribs BBQing on a smoker, and BBQ.

Since Thanksgiving Day smells are dead I'm now switching all of my alliances to bacon.

21 voters chose to participate...wow...

Well, I suppose that rivals the number of voters who took part in the recent school board elections...if you elect to stretch your imagination...

Went with barbecue over smoking ribs just to get some variety in there. I'd hate to choose from "meat and smoke", "smoke and meat", "ribs being smoked" and "hickory smoke" as the final 4.

looks like Bacon could make it to the finals... strong showing thus far...

Coffee is like the KU of the Smellympics.

They struggled through a couple of gimme rounds and seem hell-bent on exiting early. Coffee grounds should've been a prohibitive favorite and yet it's now pretty apparent that they aren't making it out of their region.

Are you saying bacon is like Northen Iowa?

If NCAA Women's basketball were a real sport, I'd say that bacon is like UCONN - never really challenged, just does what it does.

But alas, it is not. As such, I think I'll have to say that bacon is like Team Canada hockey. Even when the natives get a little restless, you're still pretty sure it's going to come through in the end.

It should be more than obvious that Cinnamon rolls wrapped with bacon in the smoker would be a blowout win.

What? There were only 3 meat choices. I had to drop a vote for cinnamon rolls.

Females get beat out by barbecued meat, ribs on a smoker, cinammon rolls AND bacon?
Really?
I wonder what the mean body fat index is among planet members?
