According to ESPN's John Clayton, the Bills' current plan is to give C.J. Spiller around 12 carries per game.

Fred Jackson will be so difficult to take off the field on early downs that this may even be an optimistic projection for the No. 9 overall pick. Spiller should wind up with 15-18 overall touches per week, including catches and return chances. He's just not going to be a workhorse in Buffalo.

this will work either very well or very badly.

Lynch appears to have been a wasted pick.

I don't think he was a wasted pick at the time. He's just another in a long line of NFL players that doesn't "get it" when it comes to off the field stuff.

So they took a RB at 9....so that they could give him the ball 12 times?

I feel bad for Spiller. I feel like he could have been a star anywhere else. Buffalo is a sad place for him to go. If they trade for Gaither that would be a big help.

Because the reporter is wrong. Or because the team they face on week one won't have to adjust their defensive planning given that they could be facing a shifty running back with a variable amount of touches.

Pretty sure the chiefs wait till the last moment to declare the back end of their gameday 53, yet a potential gamebreaking running back's touches mean nothing. Ah i see.

Doesn't mean much.If they can get 75 yards from scrimmage out of him along with good returns without beating the piss out of him as a rook, that's pretty good to me.Doesn't help,or surprise, anyone in terms of planning IMO either.

Ah i see.Do you really think this is some major revelation? I've got a hot tip for you. Glenn Dorsey will be throwing fewer than 5 passes a game for the Chiefs this year. Please don't share this info with the rest of the league.

That's cool. My Uncle's exwife's ex bf's mom's ex gf's lawyer once represented Willie Stargell.
I never did get an autograph.:shake:

Then you're actually insulting the original poster for making a pointless thread.

Sounds like a good initial plan to me. Set expectations pretty low and then if his performance demands it, ramp up his role from there.

With the bitching about McCluster; I'd hate to see what BillsPlanet looks like.

I've heard that when they passed on Cam Thomas, a riot ensued on the streets of Buffalo.
