Lakers. Nobody can match up with Bynum/Gasol/Odom and nobody can stop Kobe.

The Celtics are an excellent front court matchup for the Lakers, and Rondo will just rape Fisher.

I agree he will struggle with Rondo. What they are doing to Nash though has worked out pretty well. Are you saying you think Gang Green will win?

Celtics. First cuz I'm from Boston. Second because their defense is sick, and defense wins championships. Third because Rondo is going to rape whoever is on him. (wonder if they might try Kobe on him, now that I think about it)

Fourth cuz I'm from Boston. :D

Fifth because it's really hard to repeat. Really hard to have that fire, that burning intensity, sufficient to win twice in a row. Kobe has it, but I'm not sure about some of the rest.

Sixth because the Celtics know this is probably their last shot to get one.

Seventh because the Celtics are both mentally and physically tougher.

Honestly, I have no idea. LA is a buzzsaw right now, but so is Boston.

Sometimes it comes down to who has the best player. If it does in the Finals, then LA wins.

With that said, the matchups favor Boston because Pierce is a good enough defender to slow down Kobe, and Garnett, Davis, Perkins, and Wallace can limit Bynum and Gasol's effectiveness in the low post.

And Rondo v. Fisher will be one of the biggest mismatches of the playoffs.

One of the reasons why Nash isn't going off in this series is because he doesn't have the quickness off the dribble that he used to and LA is really good at defending that high pick and roll.

I'm really glad that Boston came around, because they are the only team I've seen in the playoffs who could make this a good Finals.

I see it going 7, though, which means that LA probably wins, due to home court.

But I would not bet on that series at all.

Paul Pierce, the former Jayhawk is in his prime. That being said, I won't watch any of it, I just read about it the next day. :D

Lake Show over Gang Green Baby!

This is a great matchup and I'm definitely more scared of Boston than Orlando, but I think, other than Rondo vs. Fisher, we match up well against them defensively.

First of all, having Ron Artest is a HUGE plus on defense. Allen and Pierce have been the main scoring machines for Boston during this run, but they will have to match up against our two best defenders in Kobe and Artest. I would put Artest on Allen and make him stick to him like glue!

Once of the big reasons we lost before to Boston was because we didn't match up well in the front court because of Bynum's injury. NOW, with Bynum semi-healthy, he should matchup well against Perkins which allows Gasol to guard the smaller Garnett. Gasol-Garnett is a much better matchup for the Lakers than Odom-Garnett.

Lake show over Phoenix in 5.
Lake show over Boston in 6.

Paul Pierce is definitely not in his prime.

Admittedly, I do not watch the NBA, just read some of the recaps and headlines. Have always been kind of sad he left the Jayhawks a year early, and like seeing him do well.
So is he on a serious decline?

**edit** just looked it up, he is down from his 22.5 career average to 18.3, so I stand corrected.

He's certainly not terrible or anything. He can still go off some nights. But he's certainly well into the backside of his career and not in his prime anymore, of that there is no doubt. Rajon Rondo, and not any of the Big 3, is now the most important Celtics player.

Not a serious decline, he's just aging. He's not going to be able to get you 25 a night anymore. He can get you 17, but the days of him carrying an offense are long gone, which is why the emergence of Rondo is so important for Boston.

The Celtics have the experience to largely neutralize any home court advantage the Lakers would have. While the Lakers are looking really good, they didn't just go down to Orlando and beat the Magic on their home court two straight times.

Hamas' point on Rondo vs. Fisher is compelling.

My heart says Lakers, my head says Celtics.

I hope Cole Aldrich somehow does a Darrel Arthur slide and goes to Oklahoma City. If Oklahoma City gets a solid big guy, they have a shot next year.

I say lakers over celtics.

The match up will come down to the front court of either team. I think they will put kobe on rondo. Pierce and artest are gonna have some good battles. If Gasol keeps playing like he has recently it will be hard for the celtics to win.
