Here's the link, for anyone who's interested:

Filed to ESPN: Former Jaguars DT John Henderson reached agreement Friday with the Raiders on a one-year deal. Nice late pickup for Oakland.

Henderson could play all 3 positions on our Dline ... i find it hard to find a downside with the Chiefs signing him.

apparently the Chiefs are determined to keep their payroll under 60 million so that they can try and break the 100 million dollar profit mark this year.

better than us trying to set a record for the lowest payroll in modern NFL history.

Seymour, and I really care what some site says about stats, looked incredibly pedestrian last year every time I watched them outside of the opening day game against the Chargers. He's not the impact player he once was and the Pats usually do a pretty good job of recognizing that in a player before he really falls off.

gotta love how they refuse to bring in any kind of competition for Tyson Jackson or Glenn Dorsey, these guys are just given starting spots because of the money invested in them. No matter how bad or good they play, this team will live and die by them, and that's what's going to kill us this season.

As for our NT situation, we have the worst NTs for a 3-4 defense in the NFL, it's not even close. Ron Edwards and Shaun Smith? It takes one guy on the offensive line to block those scrubs which is why teams will continue to gash us in the run game.

santana moss - 900 yrds
Fred Davis - 500 yrds
Antwain randel el - 500 yrds
Chris Cooley - 330 yrds (only 7 games,hurt)
Portis - 4.0 yrds per

cartwright - 3.6 per

But you also didn't include Cassels stats with the Chiefs. You put his stats with a record offense against a Campbells team who is similar to the Chiefs. If you compare 09 Cassel to 09 Campbell, Campbell is light years better.

I'm a little scared of the Raiders, this year. I htink McClain was a nice draft pick and they already had some pieces on defense. I think if DHB learns to catch, they will be able to stretch the field, and with all of the RB's they have, they should be able to run the ball when they need to.

Also, if we're just using one year to judge, can I take Trent Green's 2001 and say he's the worst QB the Chiefs ever had?

We have 2 years to judge Cassel and he sucked in both. Put up mediocre numbers with a team that went 16-0 the year before. Numbers that were nearly identical to that of Jason Campbell and the woefull Redskins. Not to mention hes gone through what, 4 different OCs in 4 years and hes still able to do it but Cassel can't even hit a wide open target 15 yards downfield.

Oakland did OK in pass defense last year - ranked #7. It was the front four that sucked so bad - rush defense ranked #29... only Buffalo, KC & TB were worse against the run. Should do better this season in Oaktown starting Henderson, Seymour, Tommy Kelly, Lamar Houston.

Aw c'mon now, Over. Surely you can see that Al Davis has been stepping back from leadership of late. We got some real help at coaching staff, drafted football players, cut #1 overall Jamarcus "He's a Great Player" Russell... see the pattern here? Its a non-Davis pattern.

Oakland has made some steps and had ONE good off season. I think they will compete with teams and that will be refreshing. It is still the Chargers to lose. A couple more off seasons like this one and Oakland may right the ship. I see them 8-8 9-7 best case~

Henderson could play all 3 positions on our Dline ... i find it hard to find a downside with the Chiefs signing him.

apparently the Chiefs are determined to keep their payroll under 60 million so that they can try and break the 100 million dollar profit mark this year.

 yep look forward to a half filled arrowhead once the weather starts getting cold and rainy. It was a joke last year.

The thing the Chiefs have going for them is the coaching staff. I am not sold on the head coach but the DC and the OC are top shelf. It is a young team and if they buy in they may play above their skill set. They are going to have to run the ball and control the clock. The west is very weak and who knows what will unfold. Oakland fans are pumped because this is the first season in quite a while where batty Al did not do anything stupid. It is one off season where they made steps to improve with solid moves. That said they are a 5 win team and Denver looks to be nothing special so who knows. I don't care how bad you stink playing in the west is a good deodorant~

Sandy Eggo closed out the season with 11 straight wins. They should be really tired after that. Now is the time to strike!
LMAO

I think the Chiefs decided he doesn't really fit the scheme. Probably the same reason Jacksonville dumped him.

I don't care about sig bets or any of that shit. I just care about what I know. Evem with all the things the Chiefs need to do to get better...and they have a long way. They are better than the Raiders.

Yeah, maybe we can beat the Raiders at Arrowhead this year.

Or maybe now that they actually have a QB they will embarrass us again.

we shouldn't have to just sit around and hope they can coach people up.

There is NO excuse for having a 55 million dollar payroll .... none.

Dorsey, DJ, etc... they don't fit the "scheme", so why not sign Henderson up? He'd fit right in.

The Chiefs were stuck with Dorsey and DJ though. I don't think signing 31-year old castoffs who don't fit the scheme is really a move you want to be making. And I bet he cost too much, especially for someone who wasn't even going to be starting.

On the flip side you could sit around and watch a gazillion dollar payroll suck just as bad like I have the last several years :shake:

You have to be a little optimistic this year. Finally the Raiders will have a QB who can complete more than 45 percent of his passes.

IMO, the statement that you’re “stuck” with guys like DJ and Dorsey is fuckin’ bullshit. Any D Coordinator worth a shit would have kept them in a 4-3 D and made them dominant.
Is it the fact that Pioli insists they line up in a 3-4? Is it the fact that the collective coaching staff have their heads up their asses? I don’t get it…

I am however it is ONE solid off offseason where steps were made to improve. IF it happens like this for a couple more years I will get excited~
