Redford would've been a bad choice in The Graduate. Simpson would've been a natural fit for The Terminator, though.

And Star Wars? Scary.

Story is that the producers feared he was viewed as "too nice a guy" to be taken seriously as a killer.

Heh. Heh-heh. Ha. Hahaha. Hohohoho. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will Smith in the Matrix would have been a win.

Any movie that doesn't involve Keanu Reeves is a win.

Same can be said for Tom Cruise.

Yup. Will is my favorite actor and I was watching Speed the other night...how the fuck does Keanu get acting jobs?

Ed Norton is a great actor and could have pulled off Bateman in "American Psycho". But Bale was definitely the better match for that role.

Russell Crowe was smart enough to turn down that piece of crap Alexander movie and Jim Carrey was stupid to turn down Meet the Parents.

Crowe might have made Alexander watchable...

Clooney as Hancock is interesting. Might've forced the producers to settle on what kind of movie they wanted. I felt it couldn't decide if it was a comedic parody of superheroes or a serious take on heroism and fame. It was marketed as a wisecracking Will Smith vehicle, but its tone was uneven.

Maybe an older, more cynical Clooney would've forced it into a more serious (or at least consistent black comedy) -- and thus better -- film.

That's just because you like to fap yourself repeatedly to Bale. :D
Norton would have made that movie even more awesome, imo.

And Star Wars? Scary.
IIRC, right up to the last minute, Carrie Fisher was going to be Carrie, and Sissy Spacek was going to be Princess Leia, and then they just switched.

Faceoff with Schwarzenegger and Stallone would have been even worse than the one that they made...I'm guessing Arnie would have been Travolta and Sly would have been Cage...

That movie was so awful and stupid, it wouldn't have mattered who played who.

Norton's not pretty enough to play Patrick Bateman, nor would he be able to capture the 80's yuppie excess. Bale was the better choice.

I don't think it's 'fap' for women, more like 'pat' or 'flick'. Heh. And no, I don't. :D

This. Norton pulled off his "Fight Club" role extremely well w/o the need to look like a pretty boy. However, had they cast Bale in that role, I think the pretty boy character balance would have been thrown off w/ Pitt. There can be only one.

Whoever did those posters did a great job, and put a lot of time into that. Even getting the fonts right is impressive.

Although I like Elizabeth Banks, Kevin Smith wanted Rosario Dawson for "Zack and Miri," and I think it would have been a MUCH better movie had that happened. But Dawson was doing that dumbass Spielberg flick.

The producers really didn't want Redford for "Butch Cassidy....", they really wanted McQueen. But McQueen and Newman wouldn't budge on the top billing. Newman lobbied for Redford afterward they caved.
The same situation develpoed years later between the two Newman and McQueen when they were cast in the "Towering Inferno", so the deal was cut that half of all media, would be with each stars name atop. Egos? yeesh!

In total agreement with "Siberian", the movie would've made a decision on what it was wanting to be, and I think a stronger film in the end. Not the Summer Blockbuster it was, but still successful as a winter release.

Don't forget Chevy Chase for Forrest Gump and American Beauty.

Also, Connery for LOtR and Matrix (I'm assuming Gandalf and Morpheus.)

I disagree I think Norton would been outstanding. He is ten times the actor Bale is and would have taken Bateman to a higher level IMO~
