I got to sing the National Anthem at the Omaha Beef's last home game against the Wichita Wild this last Saturday (6-19-2010). I've always wanted to do that. Here's the vid. Yes, I think it's a little pitchy on the video, but nobody had any complaints.

So, have any of you had a chance to fulfill a Bucket List item?

If it's not too much of a hassle, do you think you could sign my wolf shirt, (below AustinChiefs siggy, of course)?

Hey nice job on singing the song the way it's supposed to be and not trying to put your own twist on it. I hate it when people do that.

Being that it really is just a "sample" of a drinking song, doesn't that alone pretty much open it up to minor adjustments during a "cover"? :D

Heh. Had a little chat with some of the Wild fans after the game. For the most part, they like Omaha, we treat 'em pretty good. They are good fans, had a couple dozen come up to watch the game.

...and you guys beat us twice this season, so quit yer bitchin...:D

Yeah, when they came up with the name back in 1999, I was put off by it. But, it grows on you. Now I think it's a kick ass name...I guess they could have called them the Omaha NothingElseToDo's but that was probably too long...:)

Thanks man, that's my intention. I HATE it when you get some Whitney Houston wannabe that totally fugs the song up. It should be something everyone can at least try to sing along to...

Those are the Elkhorn Valley Hogs, a motor cycle club that comes out pregame with the cheerleaders on the back of their bikes. It's a whole big ass production before a game. Pretty sure the youtube channel for the Beef has some video of the opening show...their channel is theomahabeef.
