If I was the Cubs who play a lot of day games I would be trying to trade for Banny.

Banny was pretty impressive today and Soria is just fricken money. He needed that break. How the Royals have been able to keep him for so long is beyond me.

this will be a great piece of trivia one day. heres hoping that the youngsters when asked arent surprised. hopefully they are used to 100 win seasons by then and we will have to tell them that it actually happened when we were consistently LOSING 100.

He'll probably get sent back to A-ball after this debacle.

Hey, that call made up for the last 2 games of the Umps giving the Nats' pitchers calls well off the plate and well below the knees.

You know what's funny? I Heard no mention of this at all during ESPN radio this morning. They ran down all the baseball scores and not one mention of the Royals win over the Strassburg's.
Gets no love.

because the Royals fucking suck dude...
who cares?
Strasburg is a young pitcher...when he realizes the power of his fastball he'll stop trying to trick hitters with 0-2 breaking balls and won't run into all of those hits the Royals racked up by him trying to get fancy...

it's like he didn't want to waste pitches...
0-2...perfect time for high heat with that 100 MPH fastball...
but instead he was trying to get pretty with 0-2 breaking balls or changeups and the hitters were so revved up for that fastball that they were probably relieved when they got a breaking pitch...
the Royals entire game plan was to choke up and take the pitch where it was pitched and they all hit excellently...that is what everyone is going to do against Strasburg because he has such great stuff...
dude needs to throw more fastballs

I'm pretty sure that the Royals got most of their 9 hits off of the fastball, Meat Dragon. Strasburg's changeup was devastating yesterday.
Anyway, I'm not sure Strasburgh needs to do anything he isn't already doing. He gave up a ton of fluke hits yesterday. He was brilliant.

fluke hits?
He was piping 0-2 fastballs down the middle...he gave Butler an 0-2 breaking ball he took to right field...he threw DeJesus a meat pitch on 0-2 he took to left field...
with a fastball as good as the one Strasburg has, he has to waste a pitch or two up in the zone...hitters will chase...it's too hard not to...
he'll learn...he's already sensational...once he REALLY learns how to pitch (like a big leaguer)...the dude might end up with a sub 1.00 ERA for an entire season...that'll be something

True enough.
But yeah, he gave up a lot of fluke hits. There were like three infield singles and a few balls that just didn't find a fielder. The Nats made contact with Bannister a lot but those balls just kept finding fielders. Strasburg was pretty unlucky yesterday.
Strasburg has lost his burst.:D

Not to mention they should have tied it. That was a Greinke loss from last year.
That said, I wish so badly I knew a Nationals fan. They would not hear the end of this for a long time.

Looks like Strasburg has had some Zack Greinke syndrome. Great pitching game, only to have little to no run support.

DDJ said it was just any fastball, so thats why we only got 1 run right david?

It's a syndrome when it happens almost every start

Good thing about the royals it takes like 14 singles to score 4 runs, man we need extra base power bad. the whole team is awesome at singles
