Opinions? Do you think he's a good Quarterback? Would he put up the same stats without Andre Johnson? What do you guys think?

He's no Mark Castle.

He has the talent, and he's proven he can put up some sick stats.

I'm not sure he has the ability to put a team on his back and win a championship, however - and that's all that matters.

Would I want him as a Chief?

Depends.

Are you making me choose between him and Cassel only?

That's an obvious "yes."

Otherwise, there are a handful of guys I'd rather have based on my belief in them being true franchise QB's - guys who can win a championship.

Yeah, but are those his stats? Or Andre Johnson's?

And with the cast around him, is he a top eight QB in your opinion?

He's a solid player. He's in the top 20 of the starting QBs in my book.

Top 8? Hrmmm

Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Tom Brady
Aaron Rodgers
Phillip Rivers
Ben Ruthlessraper
Tony Homo
Matt Schaub

Probably #8, possibly 9 if you count Favre

Take away AJ's yardage, and Schaub still would have ranked 18th in passing.

He's a Top 8 guy in my book, and definitely one of the best QB's under 30 in the league.

Good...definately.
Great...not yet.

Now, the question is, will he go down in the books as having been greater than Matt Ryan?

What will make him great?
I think he's reached his potential and he's a very solid QB.

Beating Indy on occasion would be a start.

Winning a playoff game or two and eventually a championship would put him in the "great" conversation.

Unless either of them win a Super Bowl during their carrer, I'd imagine both will be forgoten minutes after their retirment press confrences.

Everybody remembers Grbac.

Pretty much what Warpath stated below your post. He definately will have to have more than one big season to be even considered. He's been a very accurate passer since joining the Texans and 4,700 yards passing last year is quite an accomplishment, but he isn't on the elite level yet.

Kodiak and Savannah will power him forward

Everybody remembers Grbac.

They also remember Marino, Kelly, Thigpen and Moon.
When you have that much talent you don't need a SB ring.
I don't beleive Schaub and Ryan are on that level in terms of talent.

Most great QBs have one or two elite receivers that helps make them great. Johnson helps a ton, but Shaub is one of the better QBs in the league.

Marino, Thigpen and Moon never had an "elite" receiver.

Schaub's one of the top 5 pure-passers in the NFL.

He has some injury issues and the occasional decisionmaking lapse, but there aren't many guys out there that throw a better pass than he does.

Easily a top 10 QB, IMO. You can make solid arguments for him to be as high as 6th.

Well those 3 guys are obviously special talents. I'm talking "great" in the current player sense, not all time like them.

Pre Moss, Brady didn't have an elite receiver.
Trent Dilfer also didn't have an elite receiver.
Any player Manning throws to be comes an elite receiver.
