If we stop right now, this will be the perfect thread.

Only worry if they're also cross-eyed.

Seriously... sometimes glasses are still needed. Especially if you're older, and you're reaching that stage where the focusing muscles are going to shit and you can't see close up any more and need bifocals. You could get laser surgery good enough to make you an Army sniper without a scope, but it still won't help you see your speedometer or read a book, necessarily.

WTH....cops getting their eyes fixed....what's next refs too?

Good luck man...I"m actually flying back to KC in a couple weeks and one of the things getting done is my eyes.

O-M-G I would have NEVER thought in a million years that this is what 20/20 vision is like

I would definitely recommend LASIK to anyone who needs it....I personally went to Icon LASIK in Denver and they are phenomenal doctors

You mind my asking what you paid for it? I'm kinda sorta halfassedly looking into it. Feel free to PM if you'd rather not put it in the thread.

Lasik is awesome. No more contacts falling out when the wind blows in my eye at a Chiefs game and missing the entire 2nd quarter trying to put them back in.

Going in for PRK in two weeks or so in KC. Always a bit nervous since both eyes are getting done at once but it's somewhat normal.

$799 per eye...sorry for they delayed response, staring at TV's and computer screens is really straining on the eyes esp after surgury

What do you think so far? Did the doctor where glasses?

But, do you regret it yet?

I keep thinking about it but money has never been available to spend in this manner. Maybe in the next year or two I could be serious about looking into it. I have worn glasses for 40+ years, I am pretty used to wearing them. But being able to see in the middle of the night and wear sunglasses is pretty attractive.

WTF, when did you get that done? I paid $3000 for both of my eyes.

I had mine done in April and opted for the monovision.

I paid $3400 which includes lifetime adjustments if needed.

I could not be happier. I am now 20-15 in both eyes and can see better than ever.

LASIK = best thing ever. Had mine done in 2008, and it's one of the best things I've ever done. If you're on the fence - do it.

I'd love to get LASIK done, but my c*nt eye doctor says that she won't refer me. I see 20/20 with my contacts and she thinks that the best LASIK will do is 20/20.

That's what I was thinking....sounds like maybe his eye doctor is afraid of losing a patient. I didn't think you needed a referral anyway....it's considered elective surgery by most insurances so it's not covered anyway.

Not much.

My wife was blind as a bat without her contacts and had Lasik done a couple of months ago and absolutely loves it! She didn't require a referral either....it was $4000 in nearby MD.

May have been able to get it cheaper in DC, but $2000 an eye is pretty standard around here. Whitten who was one of the innovators I think is more than that and he has offices close too. He's the one who did Tiger Woods.
