Ok SoCal, heres your chance to show off your half empty stadium....since its still only 5PM on the West Coast. :)

Not a very enticing lineup of hitters, but I'll check in on it from time to time.

It should be a high scoring game. The pitching is just terrible.

He looks like he could still lead KC's pathetic power lineup in HR's.

Oh and the outfielders look like kids. Did the home team call up a bunch of AA prospects for this? They're horrible!

It's the year of the batting practice pitcher.

FWIW, Ortiz has to be the favorite, as the park favors lefties.

Though Cabrera and Holliday both could win it, IMO.

Or the year of people being invited that have no business being invited because guys like Josh Hamilton and Albert Pujols declined.

I think somebody will post a decent number, I hope. It might not happen till that hitter's backdrop gets in the shade though. Subpar lineup + iffy HR ballpark + home plate in the shadows is a bad combo.

This event is like the slam dunk competition. It used to be great when the true dunkers (Dominique Wilkins, Michael Jordan) participated. Now it's junk.

Same with this. You bring up a great point, OTWP. When it was McGwire, Sosa, Bonds, Palmeiro...oh wait, nevermind.

But seriously, it used to be a premiere event. It's still marketed like one but not the key players.

I'd definitely put money that we could sign Bo tomorrow and he'd finish with more HR's than Kendall.

I missed Will Ferrell's Jody Davis reference. That's hilarious, I bet about 4 people outside of Chicago got that.

Bo Jackson put on some weight...but he is just a natural athlete. From the perspective of a Royals fan, it's a damned shame he played football. Double damned shame it was for the Raiders.

Here's a video from last year. Dude still has bat speed. Go to 2:20 or so to watch.
