Mizzou Fans - Might be interested. Had a photo gig at the athletics complex.

Got hired last week to do facility shots of some design stuff a company did in the Mizzou Athletics Training Complex. It was a really neat place. Met Sean Weatherspoon and some other folks. They have an amazing weight room which I didn't get shots of but most of this is the facility and offices. And they did a lot of design work in their football meeting room which was pretty cool.

The work they did on the outside was pretty amazing because you see the Tiger design from the outside looking in but when you are inside looking out it is totally clear. Shown here below.

They had a hallway where they had every NFL team represented and showed all of the Mizzou players that played for each team.

Yea, I was pretty impressed. The weight room which I don't have pics of because the players were working out was two stories...really wide open. Cool as hell. They had a cool hallway with all their bowl teams...pictures of the team along with a concert style poster of the bowl game.

Just pretty cool all around. It would be fun to be an athlete or coach. The offices and everything were there as well.

It is funny because the company that hired me does only this. They create these indoor atmospheres at big time colleges they are based in NC. They started by doing most the ACC and do a ton of schools now. Missouri is the first Big 12 school they did a ton of work at but they were like...if realignment really went crazy we would have been needed all over the place to do work.

It is amazing. We have a sign in our studio that is similar...how ever it isn't that clear from the inside...when you look close you can see how the material is unique. I should have taken a close up picture from the inside.

I lay my balls on the rule of 3rds quite often. This gig was not friendly for that rule so much of what I was shooting was really wide and horizontal or on the case of the split pictures on the wall wide and in strange spots.

Zach, awesome photos. Last veteran's day the football team invited all of the student vets to come have dinner with them at their cafeteria in that training facility.

We got a tour of the place, a question and answer session with a large group of student athletes in that auditorium you showed, and then ate with the athletes in their cafeteria (which is inside that facility.)

I was so amazed by everything in there. A very nice place. They pretty much never have to leave that building, the gym, food, trainer, and tutoring sessions are all right there. It is also right across the street (there is an elevated walkway for them) from the football field and Mizzou arena. It is also right next door to the indoor practice facilities.

I think I was most amazed by the fact that about half of that building is dedicated to tutoring and class rooms. They have a special time clock that uses their hand print to sign them in and out, and each athlete has to log a specific number of hours for studying. Their computer labs make the rest of the ones at the university look like crap.

Also they have to eat a certain number of their meals there at the cafeteria, and all of the food (it's sort of a really fancy golden corral) has labels that are tailored to individual dietary plans that they each have.

Really neat place, and I'm sure most big universities have something similar, but I doubt too many are much nicer than ours. Maybe bigger, but not nicer.

I actually did take a snapshot of the Orange Bowl trophy from way back. It is sort of funny looking. It is on my studio computer I will have to dig it out tomorrow.

I was at MU from 84-88, covered the football team in 87. You would not believe how many light years this stuff is from the dreck facilities they had back then. It's simply stunning.

Last summer I went on campus and saw the new (for me) J-school. Good God, those kids are spoiled today.

My Dad was at MU 64-67. He agreed with me that the campus changed FAR more in the 20 years since I've been there than the 20 years between he and I.
