This shouldn't be a surprise. Nebraska is loaded and Pelini's a great coach (and should have been hired before Callahan).

Gill will be running a Run Option right? From what I saw in his limited time playing last year he has some wheels to get out of the pocket if he needs to. Plus his passing looked really good in the spring game. Also he is a top recruit from the state of Kansas.

Edit: About the run option. It didn't look like it from the Spring game but who knows what they are gonna do before the season starts.

Iowa State has a much tougher schedule: @Texas and @OU back-to-back. Kansas doesn't play Texas or OU, and they only have three road conference games: @Baylor, @ISU, and @Nebraska. I think Iowa State is the better team, but their tough schedule will drag them down.

That's nice and dandy, Iowa is still obscure as hell. Iowa has never been prominent in anything except resslin. It really has no national presence. There are 2 schools in B10 with national prominence: tOSU and Michigan. Michigan has been irrelevant for the better part of the decade, though.

I guess that's why the Hawkeyes are featured on pretty much EVERY college football movie, not to mention their consistent top 20 ranking.

The only thing the nation knows about kansas football is that Mangino landed on a bad witch and the midgets rejoiced for a broad and her dog.

Hayden Fry disagrees with your assessment about the Big 10 network and other nonsense.
Why don't you take a peek at the number of Hawkeye appearances in big bowl games the last 30 years compared to Kansas AND Kansas State...

BIG Bowl games since 1980.

I'm counting BCS bowls and their precursers Bowl Alliance:

Iowa - 4 (2 OB and 2 RB.) KSU 2 (2 Fiesta Bowl).

KU- Nobody cares.

Well.... I guess their fan does. I suppose one they didn't really deserve. So you have to count that. But then again, I don't have to count it. So I won't. But then somebody might claim it's all spam. So I'll go ahead and count it.

Yeah, your 4 and 2 respective big bowls gave your schools national prominence and they're now considered football powerhouses on par with Oklahomas, Alabamas and Michigans of the world.

My point is that Iowa in and of itself is a lot less relevant than KU. KU is a powerhouse in basketball while Iowa is a powerhouse in wrestling. When you can find college wrestling on ESPN prime-time and then CBS, come talk to me. Iowa falls into the same category as Wisconsin, except that school is decent in both sports, not just football. Men don't say 'toodles'.
Iowa football is solid and doesn't need explained. Top 10 pre-season ranking.
Iowa is an equal partner in the great Big10. KU is a hanger-on in a pissboy division of a two team conference and is doled out a smaller cut than it's master, UT.
KU doesn't have a football program and is therefore irrelevant.

Iowa is more of a powerhouse in wrestling than KU is in hoops, both are pretty much equally relevant in today's college athletics picture.

Eh I don't know dude I'll have to look it up but a good example is the Nebraska/Texas game this year. It should be a prime time game right?
