That play by Betancourt was one of the best defensive plays I've seen all season. Too bad he's incapable of making the routine plays.

It's been two games and there are already murmurs on Royals Corner about how Gordon is struggling and trying to pull the ball too much. It's gotten to the point we don't even wait a week anymore.

Yeah I know... but it's typical... everybody and their dog criticizes the organization for leaving him in AAA... and after two games in Yankee Stadium you see comments like "I feel like I'm watching Alex Gordon's funeral."

He actually drove the ball well last night, just no hits to show for it.

Today? Not so much.

If you get the premium, you can watch either the home or away broadcast.

I watched the Yankees broadcast last night. Oddly enough, they had some good things to say about the Royals.

I think I've finally found th emost boring sport in the world. Mens slow pitch softball on ESPN. it's 30-29 in the 7th, haven't seen an out in 5 AB's and USA got two outs called in a row now because they hit a homerun.

The NY media also said some nice things about the Royals after the game. I'm not up on players names in MLB -- They had some really nice things to say about Davies, Moseley and the Royals bullpen -- They also singled out Betancourt and a few other players.

I'll read the newspapers online after the race.

Here's what A-Rod had to say about Davies:

''Davies did his part to relive the moment," Rodriguez said. "He just kept pumping fastballs right in there. I love that guy. He just kept challenging me, and kept throwing the ball by me or I kept fouling them off. That was fun to see."

Afterward, Davies recalled asking for a signed ball from Rodriguez following his 500th homer on Aug. 4, 2007. A-Rod sent back a signed bat that read, ''Thanks for being a good sport.''

''With big hitters in the lineup like Teixeira, Alex, you have to keep the ball down,'' Davies said. ''I did a pretty good job with Alex, not quite as good with Teixeira.''

Davies (5-6) also kept the rest of the hot-hitting Yankees in check on a sweltering day in the Bronx. He survived 5 1-3 innings to win for the first time since May 28, giving Kansas City just its sixth win at Yankee Stadium in 33 tries.
Kyle Farnsworth, Robinson Tejeda and Joakim Soria kept the Yankees off the scoreboard the rest of the way, with Soria surviving a shaky ninth for his 27th save.... http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100724&content_id=12571154&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=nyy

Such as?

The Yankees tv broadcasters said our farm system looked really good, and we are a good hitting team in general, we just need to work on the pitching.

I was expecting more of a White Sox announcers "homer" attitude from their broadcasters, but they seemed to be fair in their analysis.

Paul O'Neil only does like 20 games a year, but he was doing today's game. Ken Singleton is good, but Michael Kay and whats his face John (cant remember his last name, former catcher) stink.

You hear the highlight calls from Yankee broadcasts, and if you are talking about John Sterling (I believe that's his name), then I agree.

If I had to listen to his home run call for a season, I'd have to search him out and kill him.

He is unbearable.

Media people who cover the MFY can afford to be complimentary of marginal players on clubs such as the Royals (or Orioles, from my perspective) because they know that, more often than not, their guys will hammer the hell out of ours.

Plus, they're motivated to verbally hug the nuts of the few good ballplayers on our teams because they also know that, more often than not, they'll be interviewing those same guys soon, in the MFY clubhouse.

I'm starting to not hate A-Rod as much. I noticed today that he went out of his way to not break up the double play on Betencourt's defensive gem.

Either that or he was afraid an errant throw might mess up his pretty face.

LOL! John sterling and suzyn waldman do the Yankee games on radio. and it is absolutely unlistenable. she is an awful person to listen to, just annoying as hell. and I think its fitting that when you go in the bathrooms at Yankee stadium they have the live radio broadcast's through the speakers in there..lol

I'm thinking the latter. I saw that and was wondering WTF?
