Fun with Tannerite - Big Bada Boom

So I'm headed out the door when my coworker asks me if I want to go play with guns. I am absolutely game, especially since I have not fired my new shotty yet.

We get out there and there is a group of about 7 guys and enough firepower to take Topeka if we felt so inclined. Eventually we wind up draggin an old dishwasher out into the middle of the field and setting a 2 pound charge of Tannerite just under it.

It took about 20 shots but someone finally hit the charge and that dishwasher shot up what must have been every bit of 100-150ft in the air. It was freaking incredible.

If you ever get the chance to play with the stuff, I highly recommend it, it is wicked.

the stuff we had came premixed, not very dangerous at all until a bullet hits it. :D

what we have you have to mix. 2 parts.

and IIRC the bullet has to be 2250 FPS or more.

last time a guy was braggin up his muzzle loader and how fast it was. he said it would detonate the charge.


it didnt. just blew a hole through the bag. we ran down and put it in a cup and hit it with the 30-06 and BOOM.


the guy who showed it to me went off and hit it with a hammer, no boom. i stayed far back though.....
