Ledger is the Brett Favre of dead people. I'll never vote for him. His performance was overrated, Dark Knight was overrated, and I'm sick of hearing about it. Sadly, it'll probably take Hannibal Lechter to finally knock him off.

I loved the first one. The second one is a good movie, but I thought it was ridiculously convoluted and I thought the ending was retarded. And it didn't help that Maggie Gwyllenwhatever is uglier than a bulldog's asshole.

No better than Jack's Torrance was.

He was perfect in that role. I don't agree with the direction that Kubric took his character (in the book he was a far more sympathetic figure), but Nicholson couldn't have done a better job.

It's a travesty that fanboys are making this a walk. Nicholson is a better actor than Ledger was and Torrance was Nicholson at the height of his powers. How anyone can conclude that Ledger was difinitively better is beyond me.

I suppose that's getting away from the spirit of this competition, but if you're going to talk about Ledger's performance being brilliant, you have to tip your cap to Jack as well.

oh, I'm not saying torrance was shit. honestly, we'll never get a chance to know how great an actor ledger could've been--he died too soon. he could've been better than ledger for all we know.

to me, it's not about fan-boyism. to me, ledger's performance stole the show in the dark knight. nicholson's torrance was surreal, but perfectly within the confines of the movie... it's close for me, though. if I had ten votes, six would go to ledger and four to nicholson.

I'll admit, I hate Batman and all things DC but his performance (even after the hype) exceeded my expectations.

It's likely the best performance of a comix-flick villain of all time.
