 This will allow Tebow to be much faster. His supernatural hair was so heavy that it was holding him back. His mechanics will be much improved, because of some bullshit excuse involving his hair. McDaniels was a genius for suggesting that Tebow cut his hair. But yes, please keep telling me how the Broncos are improving when they are without their best receiver and best pass rusher.

He is an upgrade over Leggett, easily.

Leggett doesn't deserve to be in the NFL IMO. Mike Richardson and Travis Daniels are 5 times better and they aren't anything. Arenas should make for an inconsistent, rookie playmaker, that by year 3 of his career is looked at as a top 10 NB.

Brandon Marshall is a stud but so is Demaryius Thomas. And it's not like Denver doesn't have capable WR's. Eddie Royal, Jabar Gaffney, Brandon Stokely, and Brandon Lloyd are all very good WR's.

Mike Nolan's run defense gave up over 1,000 yards rushing the last 4 games of the season. He came up with a great scheme early in the year and couldn't adjust.

Their are 3 reasons Denver will be in the playoff hunt this year.

1. The players on both sides of the ball are going into their second year in the system.

2. Jamal Williams, Justin Bannan, and Jarvis Green are going to greatly improve our defense.

3. Kyle Orton is going to play even better than he did last year.

And don't even get me started on D-line and my all time favorite players, Tyson Jackson.

You did lose Marshall too, dont forget about how he was "the best WR in the league" last year. Clady cant even practice till september from what Ive read everywhere. If he starts week one, they are almost assuredly risking aggravating the injury.

Hali just beat him for another sack

You're smokin' crack if you think they'll win anything close to eight games.

TBH the biggest loss from their team in my opinion was losing Nolan as the DC, I think that meant more to that team than Elvis, Marshall or Clady.

You're smoking crack.

Thomas hasn't played a FUCKING DOWN in the NFL. Comparing him to Marshall is fucking stupid.

Orton won't play "better" than he has throughout his career, especially without Marshall and a young offensive line. I like Beadles and the new center but I wouldn't expect them to play flawlessly in year one. Clady's hurt and Moreno's hurt. Buckhalter is a walking infirmary.

Your defense sucked ass the final eight games of the season and the team went 2-6 to end the season. You're without your best receiver and pass rusher, the LT is injured as is the starting RB.

i didnt say that.

i said they upgraded. any improvement is an upgrade.

How can you state that the cornerback position has been upgraded when the ONE player added has NEVER played in an NFL game.

The cornerback position *may* be better this year, with improved play from Flowers, Carr and Leggett.

But to claim they've been "upgraded" because they added a 5'8 rookie returner/nickelback is fucking stupid.

3. Kyle "Pro Bowl" Orton is going to play even better than he did last year.

Green and Bannon are just guys.

The only reason I give the Donkeys the edge on the D-Line is Williams, assuming he can stay healthy.

If he can't, your D-Line is fucked.

Dude your secondary is nowhere near Denver's. Other than Flowers and maybe Berry you guys don't have anybody.

Denver's secondary is one of the best in the league and I'm not the only one who thinks so, Jason Cole ranked Denver as the 4th best secondary in the NFL.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=jc-dbrankings071810

We have SOLID veterans as our starters and a bunch of young guys behind them like Darcel McBath, Perrish Cox, David Bruton, and Alphonso Smith.

Perrish Cox might have been the steal of the draft when we drafted him in the 5th round.

From Michael Lombardi

Leaving Denver. Broncos more physical this year and much better on defense. Parish Cox was extremely impressive wow

From Mike Mayock

Perish Cox

His stock has been falling since he was suspended for the Cotton Bowl. He has first-round talent, and I gave him a third-round grade due to his off-field issues. Josh McDaniels feels like this is the time to take a chance on a very talented kid. He's much better in press coverage than he is in off-man. He brings special teams value to any team.

Another quote about Perrish Cox from Mike Lombardi

Based on his play this week, the best rookie seems to be fifth-round pick Perrish Cox. The defensive back had his hands on numerous balls, coming down with four interceptions in just one practice. He looked like a top-10 pick, and should make an impact if he can avoid the off-field issues that hurt his draft stock.

13. Denver Broncos
- Starters: Champ Bailey/Andre Goodman
- Third CB: Alphonso Smith

Summary: Bailey is not the player he once was, but he is still a solid cornerback. Goodman had a decent year in Miami, but struggled in Denver. Goodman is just keeping the starting role warm for Alphonso Smith. Smith will likely take over the starting job sooner rather than later and honestly can't play worse than Goodman.

Why yes, yes they do:

Brandon Stokley is expected to miss the rest of the preseason with a groin injury.
Jabar Gaffney and Eddie Royal are cemented as the starters, and Brandon Lloyd seems likely to enter the season in the situational deep threat/red-zone role that was initially intended for Demaryius Thomas. Eric Decker is the best bet for the No. 4 role if Stokley isn't back by Week 1. Gaffney is the one to target in fantasy drafts.

Shawne Merriman, Dexter McCluster expected to miss opener

After a misguided late start to training camp, Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman will likely be on the sidelines when his team starts its season late Monday night.

Merriman was listed as doubtful with an Achilles injury in the Chargers-Chiefs injury report released Saturday afternoon. The one-time Rookie of the Year only practiced for a few days in August before this injury popped up again. The rest of the Chargers should be ready to go.

This is a huge season for Merriman to prove he's still a capable NFL starter; his late start to camp and quick injury have him off to a very rough. (It also has us wondering where the Chargers will get their pass rush.)

The Chiefs, meanwhile, will probably be without rookie multi-threat Dexter McCluster, who is doubtful with an undisclosed illness. The team's best defensive player -- linebacker Tamba Hali -- is questionable with a foot injury. Hali was limited in Friday's practice. Right tackle Ryan O'Callaghan is questionable with a groin injury.

We are looking forward to seeing what the Chiefs are going to do with McCluster, but it looks like we may have to wait another week.
