To lend a little bit more perspective....

I bought a large 4'X20' Backlit sign with a neon bar around the border. The folks at the sign shop said that a backlit sign with color, like red, green blue and so on will not have the same clean lines as a black and white backlit sign. On the side of a building when you are looking for visibility from far away, something like that is important. Not that the colored signs were unreadable, but the black and white stood out as a cleaner more visible sign amongst the other signs in the same business district.

What does any of that have to do with your application? Probably nothing. But I thought I would throw it out there as a past experience. I actually prefer the black one over the others anyway. It's the cooler sign.

BTW neon is expensive as hell. Just for one bar of neon that went around the sign I designed? $600 bucks, and that was over 10 years ago.

That's all anyone in the U.S. is drinking, Guinness-wise. You're right though: when I said that Guinness is bad I was referring to the product labeled "Guinness Draught," aka the Guinness that is for sale in America, contracted brewed in Canada. I don't think I was saying anything controversial; the product advertised to us as Guinness might as well be Guinness, right? If the regular Guinness in Ireland is better then it is an anomaly, seeing how the rest of the Guinness brand is shit. I've had some various Guinness Foreign Export Stouts that have been good beers. But Guinness Draught is an exact replica of drinking a watery, stale cup of Maxwell House.

If the regular Guinness in Ireland is better then it is an anomaly, seeing how the rest of the Guinness brand is shit. I've had some various Guinness Foreign Export Stouts that have been good beers.

I disagree..."shit" is pretty harsh. I mean I guess it sounds like splitting hairs but personally I prefer ales to lagers so, for me Guinness is automatically better than almost every lager. Then I would have to rate guinness among the ales and I would say it is about a mid-grade...

Even if I were to grade it below mid-grade, I would argue that it is not 'shit.'

Another thing is that it is mass produced so if you were comparing to ONLY other mass produced beers, I think you would definitely have to retract the 'shit' statement. It is one of the better mass-produced beers I can think of.

Ive had plenty worse beers, even ales...even my beloved stouts. Ive even had plenty of worse micros and craft brews....

Also, (for you younguns) micros are relatively new in the USA (started in the mid 70's) so maybe I am old but to me Guinness is one of those beers that inspired brewers to make stuff that is better than Budweiser and Coors, and I just wouldnt refer to it as 'shit.' I think that is incorrect. Before the 80's it was tough to find a good beer! Kids today are SPOILED rotten! Being able to say 'Guinness is shit' proves that.

And yes, the regular Guiness brewed in Ireland is better, I *think*. I mean I didn't do a blind taste test, but I liked it a lot, and remember thinking it was better than the Candadian stuff. It might be the water....I have brewed the same recipe of beers EXACTLY with different water and had dramatically different results....I have no idea though I am by no means any kind of expert.

Actually it isn't. You can get the real stuff if you go to a decent shop or even order it online.
Maybe the "real stuff" sucks too then. ;) Guinness Extra Stout and Foreign Export Stout are nice, but the first regular good Guinness to come out of a bottle, can or on-tap will be my first. I would rather drink a Bud Light Lime than drink a bottle of Guinness.

I'd have to say guys dig light box. After we've had a few Guinness, we'll take a heavy one. Or and old one. Or even a old, heavy one...

I really think that Guinness is one of the very worst beers I've ever had. I've tried it from the bottle, from a can, from a keg and it has been consistently terrible for me. There are so many dry stouts and oatmeal stouts out there that are infinitely better and certainly more local.

This I can agree with^^^^^^^

This I think is ridiculous..But I can't argue with your opinion. The only possibility I can think of is that you drank it too cold, but if you enjoy other stouts I suppose that isn't the case. I agree with the local/better beers. I mean I am a huge supporter of my local Micro Breweries. I live in one of the richest areas in the WORLD when it comes to micro breweries per/capita. (Santa Rosa CA) I have even dabbled in brewing myself...and have a small 12 gallon capacity set up. The only thing I can say, since it is just a matter of opinion, that I think Guinness is no where even remotely close to 'worst' beer. I would even go so far as to say it is one of the better mass-produced beers in the world. Sure, if you compare it to craft stouts, Guinness is going to lose. But that is like comparing Grandma's apple pie to a better quality store bought. And, just because some/many craft beers are better than Guinness does not mean that Guinness is the 'worst' beer ever. But again, I can't argue with your opinion. All I can do is give mine.

I need to find an Alaskan Brewing Company sign for my game room. For the beer snobs of the thread, get your hands on something from Rogue. Dead Guy Ale is great, and they make an awesome chocolate stout.

Rogue is a very good brewery. Pretty close to where I live, and I have been Kayaking on the Rogue river. Beautiful place, beautiful brews.

Hit Ebay bud. There are 1000's on there. I have scored around 10 for the man shop, there in the past. Just to a search for beer taps and beer handles and do your search from lowest to highest price. You should be able to find what you are after at a reasonable price.
