Chiefs-Bucs one-liners

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on August 22, 2010 12:22 PM ET
The Chiefs defense struggled again in a 20-15 loss to the Bucs, failing to get much pressure on the opposing quarterback.

Chiefs CB Maurice Leggett didn't travel back to Kansas City with the team, but early signs after his scary neck injury were positive. "Extremities and all those things were good," head coach Todd Haley said.

Thomas Jones fumbled for the Chiefs, and continues to be outplayed by Jamaal Charles, who put up 49 yards on only eight touches.

QB Matt Cassel had a much improved effort, completing 14-of-19 passes for 125 yards and a score. "We got in a rhythm and capitalized," Cassel said.

Another week, another big kick return by CB Javier Arenas.

Undrafted WR Jeremy Horne made a big impression while lining up with the first team.

Bucs QB Josh Freeman knows people will be watching how he handles his thumb injury.

Bucs coach Raheem Morris expects Freeman to be ready for the start of the regular season.

Freeman's injury has some columnists freaking out, although at least backup Josh Johnson played well in Freeman's place.

Rookie WR Mike Williams continues to look like a star in the making, although the Bucs didn't learn anything new about their suspect reserve wideouts.

Return man Clifton Smith missed the game with a bout of the gout.

The Bucs announced a crowd of 41,386, although only 30,413 were in the building.

30,000 is pretty poor for any NFL game. I thought the stands looked thin, but that's thinner than I figured.

The Planet one-liners are way funnier - these guys are amateurs. Just check a game-day thread.... any game-day thread.

I get that shit from time to time in my big toe, it hurts so damn bad you can't even put a sheet on your foot, weird though, you can have your big toe full of that pain and sometimes the next morning and you can barely feel pain.

For people that don't know what it is it is a build up of uric acid in the blood that crystallizes and locks the joint up or makes it so sore you can't move it...
