I put this in the Media Center already... but I'm gonna put it here too. It's not so much about the music for me, as it is about the football. I grew up in a very small town... and I played, for a while.. (wasn't very good, but I loved being a part of it.) Anyway...

I always wished I had played FB in high school, but I was built for track and CC and did that instead. But football is where the glory is...

I was a chick that was part of the marching band (color guard). We were at all of the home varsity games. I really, really, wish I would have been as into the sport as much as I am today. Cold weather wouldn't have bothered me as much, and it would have been a much more exciting time. Kinda wish I would have been the kind of person in high school that I am today. I don't think it was so much the song itself that made me think that as it was the motivational speeches.

I went into football half-assing it. It was cool to be a part of the team, and I loved wearing that jersey on game day (as was mentioned). I just never had the confidence to put it all out there.. I was terrified of screwing up. lol

All that lovely footage of high school football is lovely precisely because it completely steals the cinematography style of the show Friday Night Lights. It only made me want to watch some FNL episodes.

I weighed all of 125 pounds in high school. My class had 1200 kids and the football team was runnerup at state (Texas) my junior year. It's safe to say I don't regret giving it up after the 8th grade.
