I don't think this will get much play in the draft forum this time of year..

So here you are... http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-A.php

The pick is the Chiefs at 10...taking..Julio Jones.

In fairness he always said it was a good pick and it's who he would take at the pick, he didn't think the Chiefs would do it and well he wasn't alone in that thought.

I think Talking Can saw that sick one-handed catch from yesterday, a pass thrown by redshirt freshman A.J. McCarron, and assumed that McCarron was the Tide's QB this season.

McElroy is still the starter in Tuscaloosa, and he deserves to be. He's smart, accurate, and has great instincts. I saw the game in person, and McElroy was masterful at evading what little pressure got through the 'Bama line. McCarron, meanwhile, got some valuable experience. Kid's got a Hell of an arm, and he seems accurate on his deep passes, too.

Julio Jones is a beast. Only thing that can slow him down is his motivation.

Me too he's exactly the athletic OLB we need for this defense. Von Miller is going to be an interesting guy to watch since A&M will be running the 3-4 this year and are one of the only teams to do so. It made that guy from Cal alot of money.

What does everyone think about Mallet? Could he be a top ten pick by the end of the year? It's hard to tell where he's going to fall, it's obviously really early in the season and I think it's going to be a QB-rich year. There are questions about his fundamentals, his touch and his mobility, but he obviously has the prototypical size and the ability to make every throw. Right now I'm expecting him later in the round, but who knows at this point. He's somebody that I think could end up being really good at the NFL level though.

the Talking Can
09-05-2010, 08:42 PM
What does everyone think about Mallet? Could he be a top ten pick by the end of the year?

easy, if he puts up huge #s....QBs generally rise given the demand for them

i kind of wish he was at a smaller school like Flacco, because he's going to go higher just based on being in the sec

Mecca
09-05-2010, 08:47 PM
Mallet was also a 5 star recruit he's been known forever.

His arm alone should elevate him, he's the kind of guy who everything that's done in the offseason really works in his favor because he'll be the guy with the biggest arm.

Mallet has done a good job of losing weight making him more mobile so they can actually do rollouts and such.

I still think Locker is overrated as a top 5 pick, I don't see that with him, maybe teams do.

I mean, his stats were fine, and maybe this doesn't make any sense outside of my own head, but I think a top QB finds a way to win that game. That's part of what I think goes into drafting these guys so high, being winners at major programs. 'course he has an entire season to make up for it.

Gabbert looked alright the other night in the first quarter, then really turned it on in the 2nd half and looked awesome. But, most of the routes he threw were short, 7 yard hitches (which he threw more accurately than Cassel I might add). I like him a lot, but he still has a lot to learn before he decides on if he goes pro this year or next.

Pick #23 KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: RYAN KERRIGAN, OLB, PURDUE

Scouting Report
In just a couple of years General Manager Scott Pioli has worked his magic and taken the Chiefs from perennial cellar-dwellar to playoff contender. There is no question that this franchise is finally on the right track, but for all the improvement they’ve shown there is still work to be done.

After using their last few first round picks to address the defensive line (Glenn Dorsey & Tyson Jackson) and secondary (Eric Berry) it might be time for Kansas City to add an impact linebacker. Purdue’s Ryan Kerrigan plays defensive end in college but there are plenty who feel he’s capable of making the transition to outside linebacker in an odd front. Kerrigan may not possess elite size, speed or athleticism but he’s just a terrific football player with a non-stop motor who finds a way to get the job done and that has endeared him to pro scouts.

In many ways Kerrigan will remind you of Mike Vrabel, who he could ultimately replace in KC. The Chiefs also need to bring in some additional firepower for their passing attack so wide receiver is a possibility and don’t rule out a offensive lineman
