"We're coming to the Meadowlands on Sunday, man, so you got 60 minutes of this 'slouch.'" (http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=5571905)
I'm so glad this is a 3:15 kick.
New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss has a message for New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, who over the offseason dubbed Moss a "slouch":
"We're coming to the Meadowlands on Sunday, man, so you got 60 minutes of this 'slouch.'"
Moss made the comment on "SportsCenter" on Tuesday, when asked by anchor Hannah Storm his reaction to the comment by Revis, who categorized Moss as a "slouch" while playing a word association game on the NFL Network during the offseason.
"Words don't really hurt me. I guess he's entitled to say what he wants to say," Moss said. "Then again, we're coming to the Meadowlands on Sunday, man, so you got 60 minutes of this 'slouch.' I don't really get into the trash talking, but if what he called me was a 'slouch,' then I guess the 'slouch' will be there to see you on Sunday."
The Patriots face the Jets on Sunday afternoon at New Meadowlands Stadium.
It was the second time in three days Moss had talked about Revis, the shutdown cornerback known for stranding high-profile receivers on "Revis Island." Revis played well against Moss last season, holding him to nine catches for 58 yards and just one touchdown in two games last season.
"There was a lot of talk last year -- and I'm not taking anything from him, he did some good things to be the shutdown corner that he is -- I'm not here to say that I prided my offseason on Revis," Moss said. "But like I said, I take pride in what I do. What he did last year, was something that, he opened my eyes up as a wide receiver. That there's a cornerback out here where I have to be on my A-game. I prided my offseason on staying off Revis Island."
Jets coach Rex Ryan confirmed Tuesday that Revis indeed will cover Moss on Sunday afternoon.
"Yeah, you can go ahead and put that in there," Ryan said.
