There are four teams alone in first place in the AFC, and aside from Houston, none of them have had any offense yet. Both us and Pittsburgh won without an offensive TD today. Matt Schaub nearly threw for 500 yards, Favre bombed and the Cowboys lost again.

I know that much, appeared to be a rather ugly game looking at the box score.

It was another ugly win, just like Haley said it would be. Cassel had a very rough first half... BUT, made some very nice and timely throws in the second half to keep drives alive. The drives only resulted in FG's, but those were enough for the win. And we went for it on 4th and the length of the football on the Browns 40 right at the 2:00 warning. Made it by just a bit, and ran out the clock. Defense played well much like last week. ST's did a pretty good job... minus the return yards like Monday night.

2-0 Baby! :toast:

Peyton is my third favorite QB behind Montana and Young, but, damn what a boring freaking game. That is one of the problems with the Colts, they are too good in some of their games, making them painfully boring.

Before Collingsworth shoots off his mouth -- It may be in his interest to ask potential reporters the developing narrative in Monday's newspapers: In private … without any serious challenge from the Giants, and what is and what is not, newsworthy, the emphasis and headlines is on the N.Y. Jets -It was ironic, in a way, that he would think otherwise.

thanks guys, for letting me vent.

They don't want people thinking they got snubbed. Well, that, and you can't possibly smear Peyton's reputation. (/sarcasm)

Thank you Giants for that meaningless TD that brought the score over 48. You are champions in my mind.

Peyton wanted a win, so he got the win.

If Peyton wants a blumpkin from the Commish, he'll get a blumpkin from the Commish.

It's his world.

Horrible game .... Jacobs throws his helmet in the stands and then gets in the old man's face. I hope they cut him.

If Collingsworth is smart -- he should of brought up the game planning for this game.Question why the Giants did not stay with the run and use short passing routes to move downfield instead of wearing down an undersized offensive line. And the defense flat out sucked along with some very weird play schemes.

I hate when I know more than an effen sports announcer! Full stop

Wasn't Collinsworth saying that?

Just think of what Cassel will look like against those DEs....

Wasn't Collinsworth saying that?

at the end of the game --

Horrible game plan on defense. The tackles cant block. Why not adjust? It was hard to watch.

The Giants also looked unprepared. Coughlin and his band of gypsy buddies need to go.

The Giants were awful. Freeney & Mathis were too strong & fast to handle.

The Giants deactivated DT Rocky Bernard along with rookie DT Linval Joseph. They expect a pass-heavy attack from Indianapolis, so expect to see Justin Tuck and Dave Tollefson lined up inside often.

Why would Tom Coughlin & Perry Fewell deactivate all but two DT's in tonight's game? -- Our best run stoppers were inactive -- So, did they expect the Colts not to notice six DB's playing pass rushing DE's and LB's? This is crazy that a line-up like this is even possible.

“They ran the ball 10 times last week and threw the ball 57 times,” Coughlin said. “We felt they were going to throw the ball more than they were going to run it. That’s how we prepared, and that’s how most people prepare for this team.”

Love how Gilbride gave no help to the tackles -- Freeney and Mathis were running through McKenzie and Diehl like turnstyles

Tom Coughlin should have quit after winning the Super Bowl --

Jerry Reese, the Giants general manager should quit tomorrow for neglecting the offensive line and for picking and signing duds the last two years. Enough said.

and to all a good night....

That's what happens when your coaching staff out thinks themselves instead of just putting the best guys on the field.

When playing Manning you should be concerned with stopping the run, because 3rd and long is the only way you are going to disrupt that offense.

The Giants fucked up on a couple of fronts

#1) You don't deactivate good interior run stuffers
#2) Mathis and Freeney both suck against the run and should be run at constantly.
#3) They should have made much heavier use of the screen game, filling the voids that the overpursuing Colts ends created when they rushed up field.

Throwing deep routes against that defense is a recipe for disaster b/c their safeties can close too quickly on anything but seam routes and it plays into the strengths of their linemen.

thanks, 'Hamas' Jenkins -- I agree.

One question:

Why would Tom Coughlin & Perry Fewell deactivate all but two DT's in tonight's game? -- Our best run stoppers were inactive -- So, did they expect the Colts not to notice six DB's playing pass rushing DE's and LB's? This is crazy that a line-up like this is even possible

I've never heard of a team deactivating their DT's before -- have you?
