But....But....They were the best team in the state of Ohio last year. Just ask their fans. ROFL I knew Florida would roll them last year and I'm happy to see their "fans" disappear.

Q: Are you disappointed the team hasn’t had many long scoring drives?
"I don't really think we should ever start from our own 10. That's what special teams is for. I'm fat, listen, I don't want no 90-(yard) drives. I love them 40-yard drives. We have to rely on special teams. That's special teams' job to put offense in great situations so we don't have to drive 90 yards, we don't have to drive 80 yards. We drive 60 and score and get off the field. … It sucks, but it has to be done."

Q: When was the last time you were under 300 pounds?
“At birth, I think. Somewhere around there.”

Absolutely agree. I was surprised that Bama was only -7. If Mallett avoids a Locker-like performance, he should solidify a top-10 draft slot, particularly with his measurables.

Run-first, conservative team. Averaging about 22 passing attempts per game. Damn near 2-1 run-to-pass ratio. Lacks impressive arm strength. Questionable accuracy on some occasions.

Spare me the "leader" and "intelligence" bit. I want plenty of natural talent first, and then we'll talk about the importance of these characteristics, as they are important.

Let's say this is true; it still doesn't distract from any of the points I made in my last post because you're still implicitly pointing to characteristics beyond Luck's physical skill set, which is what must most readily transfer to the league.

Greg Robinson defense at it's finest.

The play-by-play guys have been talking about bringing Robinson back into the game, but I think that would be stupid beyond belief. The Michigan offense has been moving the ball at will, even with the backup. They dropped a TD pass and had a TD called back for a stupid penalty on the last drive.

Lately, with all of the BJ's that ESPN has been giving to the SEC, I've started to become more of a conference fan (much like SEC fans apparently. I love when "fans" of Vanderbilt tell me about how "they" have won the last several college titles and talk shi* about the B10. ROFL). Does this mean that I don't care when OSU loses to an in conference opponent? NO. What it does mean is that I follow all B10 teams more closely. I can say that RR has really set this proud program back and while his offense has improved, he d is terrible. Concerning the offense, you gotta admit, Robinson will get killed against teams like OSU, Wisconsin, Iowa, Penn St. and Nebraska (next year) if he tries to run that often.

I can say that RR has really set this proud program back and while his offense has improved, he d is terrible. Lloyd Carr set the program back. His recruiting fell apart towards the end (remember his was the team that lost to Appalachian State at home, the first big 1AA upset...). They're beginning to recover now because this is Rodriguez's 3rd recruiting class, and the roster's finally starting to fill out with players that fit what he wants to do. The defense is further behind because when he took the job they had a total of 23 scholarship players on that side of the ball.

Although I hope they do badly enough on defense that Greg Robinson is fired, I have no idea why Rodriguez hired him.

I can't remember ever seeing a michigan offensive performance like this. 51 points, nearly 600 yards, still 12 minutes to go. And Robinson's been out since halfway through the first quarter. Offense hasn't lost a step with Forcier (or Gardner) in the game. Maybe it's not so crazy that they didn't decide Robinson was the starter until the day of the opening game. Although his wheels (supposedly sub 4.3 speed) certainly make a difference.

I agree with the thoughts on Carr. This is where the team really started to decline. Though they ended that year beating Florida in a bowl game, which was impressive. I follow recruiting a little and if you think those sites adequately judge talent, then Michigan will struggle for the forseable future. However, I'm sure when he coached at WVU they didn't get 5 star players and did just fine (however it was the Big East.) I just don't know if that offense will consistently produce in the Big 10 against the elite programs. Also, Michigan has always been successful by recruiting Ohio and they just have not done a very good job doing that lately. Part of that is OSU locking up in state talent, but you also have guys like Chris Wormley (DE) who plays FB in Ohio, loves Michigan but doesn't have a Michigan offer. He's going to be one of the best DE's for 2012.

I'm not a particular fan of Rodriguez (if anything I'd tend to dislike him under normal circumstances because he's a country boy), but I think he deserves as fair a shot as anybody else. A segment of the Michigan fanbase has hated him from the get-go for no other reason than he's an outsider, they thought a "Michigan guy" should get the job, and to me that's pretty stupid. Whether that happens or not, I don't know. I doubt it - a lot of those games were close, and they probably won't all go the same way in 2010 that they did in 2009. Hard to say, though. We'll see how the rest of the season goes. All due respect to Notre Dame, the Wolverines haven't really played anybody to this point. I still don't think they should be ranked. I think their defense is probably worse than last year's (I've said that for weeks...), but I think their offense has improved more than their defense has declined. Maybe a lot more. And it could improve even more, if they keep everybody healthy. It's a pretty young unit.

CCQ sucks you need a detailed description? He threw a pass that was no where near catch able by any receiver. It's like while he was throwing, he tried throwing to the open man 10 yards down but it only went as far as the covered man 5 yards down.
