That 90% was probably correct, but none of us have ever envisioned the defense growing so rapidly that most of us had to revise our thoughts about the 3rd game.

16 games in 2008 and 15 games in 2009 was a fair evaluation of him.

Simply put, he's not even worthy of being a starting QB, and what's even sad, some of the back-up QB's in this league can outperform him rather easily for a 1/3rds of that cost.

Bring in what "decent" QB? Decent QBs aren't released or see FA, generally speaking. And it becomes harder to draft a franchise QB when you have a +.500 record, as we likely might.

It really is a horrible feeling. It sucks the juice out of Arrowhead because everyone is quietly praying that he doesn't **** up.

It was quite frustrating...

At times during the Indy game, There was NO WHERE to go with the ball. I mean NO WHERE and thankfully Matty Light just throws it away.

Then next thing you know, your watching the play develop and thinking to yourself. Throw it, Throw it... But buy the time he registers its time to throw it... Nobody was open...

I did watch Dexter alot, dude is just wheels out there.. But there were a bunch of times that the ball should of been in the air before Dexter comes out of his break.. When he broke, he was open for 3-5 seconds. Buts it way to late to unload the ball by that time.

Dexter is by far the best reciever on this team. His route running makes DBowe look like you or I out there. Bowe isnt very impressive at all on the field. Dude blocks very well, but his routes are lazy and poor. Chambers is zzzzzzzzzzz...

I know Cassel sucks, I am tired of him. Hell I think every one is tired of him. But we cant change it.

I think Matt Cassel has all the tools except one (well, two, but they are related) – poise in the pocket and decision-making.

When his first option is open and he doesn’t have to 1) worry about standing in the pocket for longer than 3 seconds, and 2) scan the field for 2nd and 3rd options, he has shown accuracy and a strong arm.

He also has the legs to escape pressure, but once he has escaped that pressure he is still confused, can’t find anywhere to throw, and generally ends up throwing it out of bounds.

I think they’ve simplified everything for him. “Throw here”. That’s it. If the play works, great. If it doesn’t, he could end up throwing into double, triple, or (in the case of the 4th and 2 against the Colts) quintuple coverage.

Will he ever be a good QB? Probably not. I can see where some people want to blame the offensive line (“if we give him more time, he should be able to make better decisions”), but that’s treating the symptom rather than curing the disease.

Well, let's look at some basics:

1.) Cassel has a QB rating in the 90's on 2nd down, and only in the 60's on 1st and 3rd down. Even on 3rd down, his rating is a respectable 98.1 when the distance is 3-7 yards (Better than Brees, for example). It's still early, and the sample sizes are small, but it's not as if he's been completely incompetent, as far too many of you people like to insist.

2.) If a receiver drops a pass, the QBs percentage and yardage are immediately impacted, but so are the subsequent plays. Dropping a 5 yard pass on 1st down changes things from 2nd and 5 to 2nd and 10, which radically changes outcome percentages, leads to different play calling, and puts the QBs in much more difficult situations.

3.) All quarterbacks, including Brady, Brees and Manning, make bad passes.

People here like to ignore, or completely minimize, these simple truths. The fact that people are searching for scapegoats on a 3-1 team is pathetic. The fact that people are heaping almost all their derision on the QB is moronic. Last year, Pioli and Haley were idiots, according to many of the NFL geniuses here. Now that those two seem to be off the table for the moment, instead of that causing people to reassess their positions, it's just narrowed the bitching field and intensified the crying about the QB.

Cassel is no game manager. He is an order taker. We finally threw the slant Sunday when Weis finally discovered the opening. Cassel can win, but he needs better QB coaching.

Matt Cassel has really flew under the radar and that's why he gets my unsung hero award. He has done an excellent job managing the game and not turning the ball over. I hope he continues to fly under the radar. I think he's playing as well as if not better than any QB in the league right now. The $63 million investment is starting to pay off......
