UPDATE HERE (http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showpost.php?p=7089686&postcount=53)

He'll shoot me if he finds out I posted this here, but that's okay.

You might send some good thoughts his way. He called me to bring him to the ER yesterday. Ended up being here 12 hours including some emergency hernia surgery.

Well, we are back. His oxygen level is a little low and he's in some pain. They are running tests and doing xrays/cat scans right now.

I am sure everything is fine, but good thoughts can't hurt. Thanks a bunch.

Also, please do not sticky this thread.

UPDATE: He's at home, pain pills taken and resting in bed. Thanks for the thoughts!!!

Blockage in his small intestine meant a tube down his nose. He's drugged and sleeping nicely, so I came on home for now. Thanks all. Not quite what I had expected, but it could have been far worse (maybe not from dad's perspective right now, though).

I hate hospitals, spent too much time around them the last few years. But I love the people who work there, it's a hard job. Hope everyone gets home healthy and happy. Good thoughts for you and your loved ones.

A couple of improvements. They took the tube out, and he's sitting up in a chair with a little less pain. So far, so good.

Glad to hear the good news.

Take care, Mr. papasmurf. And, if you do shoot her, make sure it's just a flesh wound. That way, you can make your point and she can continue to fight on.

Let's try this again.

We haven't gone back to the ER or anything. Dad seemed to be doing really well yesterday, and he even talked about going to a weekly breakfast with his coworkers early this morning. I sent him a text asking if he made it, and called later in the morning, but he didn't answer either of them. I went over on my lunch break, and he's sick in bed. He's eaten little/no solid food this week. I took him some saltines (thought they might help with his stomach), and I'm going grocery shopping for him after work.

I just really thought he'd be nearly back to normal by now, minus the lifting restrictions and too much activity. I know it will be okay, but seeing him today just has me a little worried. I can't remember seeing him this sick in my life. Maybe it's the pain meds? He's taking hydrocodone 7.5, one pill at a time.

Thanks for any continued thoughts/prayers.

what was the diagnosis?

what was the diagnosis?

It's all stemming from the hernia surgery he had last Saturday. He went back and had to stay a few days, but he's at home. I think it might be his pain meds mixed with not eating much. He's drinking water to keep hydrated, so that's good. I think I'm going to go to Walgreen's after work to see if I can find an OTC pain reliever that he can take with his high blood pressure.

Did they go through the groin or put a web in? My cousin had a hernia when he was playing d-1 fb and it took him awhile to get on his feet.

They did laproscopic (?) surgery.
