The Cowboys are one game away from a meltdown. If that happens, Wade Phillips is sure to get canned. Can Tony Romo be far behind? Jon Saunders said on ESPN he wasn't a starting QB! WTH?

I think most of his problems are from the surroundings. If he wasn't part of the clowncar on parade that they have been lately, I think he could do well. A good running game, and just having need of a QB that can make the throws that are needed to keep the defense from needing to defend them.

I'm not sure where he stacks up in regards to accuracy and long throws, but if he can do those better than Cassel I don't see how he wouldn't help. But, I agree with a lot of others tha a big piece of our offense problems is not having one receiver that can beat people deep that has to be accounted for.

Can we all just wait a year, and draft a real QB?

yes yes yes. I hate Cassel but I hate the fact that we don't attemt to draft a highly rated QBotf out of the draft even more. This league right now is driven by highly touted QBs from the draft & we need to get ours.

NO ROMO, BRO

I hate Romo but he's 100 times better than Cassel. Heck, I'd even take Jessica Simpson to be the QB over Cassel.

Romo here would be awesome actually. He wouldn't be required to carry this team and could in fact be just better than a caretaker. But it aint happening.

Romo won't go anywhere

Romo would look like a HOFer compared to what we've been watching the last two years. Rather groom our own, but Romo wouldn't be a terrible option. Not by a large margin.

Naturally, Hootie would have to be banned, lest this site become unusable.

Let him stay where he is -- right there with the Cowboys

I would like to think that if Romo wasn't in the Dallas media and in that high pressure situation with his owner that he could calm down and be a productive player.

That said NO keep that F***er away from ONE Arrowhead drive. We need to draft a QBOF. No more retreads.

They aren't going to let Romo leave, he's Jerry's boy. Plus he's pretty good.

Maybe we can get Kalb next year after Vick returns to be the starter.

My preference would be to draft a QBOTF

Absolutely not. Romo is a game manager at best. If he's in a high pressure situation he fucks it up. While he's better than Castle, he still sucks. Decent accuracy but zero brains.

I would have open arms bringing Tony Romo in, at least compared to Matt Cassel. Tony Romo is a top 10 QB in the league...

I'm no ROMO fan, but he is leaps and bounds better than Cassel. Infact, I can't think of a starting QB in the NFL worse than Cassel.

I say we start Croyle this year and then draft a QB.

Mile High Mania

There is zero chance that Romo becomes available...

Now, I am expecting a HC change at any point...

I seriously doubt that Jerry is gonna let Romo go anywhere for a while, unless it's a 1st round pick + some. But you have to know that Wade Phillips is gone after this season. I just hope that they don't go knockin down Romeo Crennel's door for their next HC, the way he turned our defense around, some teams will be looking at him.

Romo would be a huge upgrade and with proper coaching he would be be a stronger armed Trent Green with better mobility. I don't know what some of you are smoking but if KC can get a good QB with upside in the next year then they'll have a huge window before the team gets too old to get to the bowl.

That was the problem with the some of Marty's and all of Vermeil's and dumbass Herms teams. They were old and young at the same time and NEVER balanced. KC is up and coming and if you added a QB with experience and drafted for the rest of the needs this team could be great for 10 years.

PS - I'd be stunned if Jones let Romo go anywhere. He'll fire his lap dog Phillips and then will call it good.

I could go for Romo. Hell, I would take just about anyone over Cassel at this point. That said, what we need more than anything is to draft a QBOTF next year. But we do need a competent stop gap while we develop that QBOTF. Cassel is not that stop gap. Croyle could be if he could stay healthy. Herm is gone. The offensive line is much improved. Croyle might actually survive a season now. Considering that our line held Freeney and Mathis to zero sacks, Brodie never had that kind of protection.

My preferences:

1) we drafted Sanchez 2 years ago
2) we draft our own QB in 2011 and develop him over a 3 year period
3) Tony Romo
4) A Fish Called Wanda
5) Matt Cassel

GloryDayz

1. He's not getting traded.
2. No, no, no! Romo's done. He looks like he's mailing it in every week right now. Part of that might be the idiot of a head coach he has...but I think he's lost something. He just doesn't seem to enjoy the game anymore.

He was better when he was porking Jessica Simpson. I think he just needs a new pop star. What is Miley Cyrus doing in November? Oh yeah, turning 18. She's probably a Dallas fan. Go get'er Tony

Don't care for Romo, but he's pretty damn good except for some key mistakes he makes.

Would take him in a heartbeat. This team we have this year would be wicked good with Romo instead of Casshole.

The Cowboys aren't going to part ways with Tony Romo.

Romo is a very good QB.

His problem is the same as the reast of that team.

He suffers from a lack of discipline, and that problem won't be corrected until Jerry Jones realizes he needs to hire a real HC and just get the fuck out of the way and let him do his job.

Wade Phillips is, to borrow from Colin Cowherd, a marshmellow.

You can't hope ot play good solid disciplined football with a marshmellow on the sidelines.

I could see Jones throwing a couple truckloads of money at Cowher. That would be scary.

And unless Jones backs off and lets Cowher run things fully, the Cowher era would end much the same as the Parcells era.
