Check out this Facebook page (you don't have to be signed in or have a facebook account)

And tell me what you think about it's overall functionality.. anything there that is superfluous... anything missing?

Ignore the fact that there isn't much content regarding photos or wall posts.. just talking about the overall template...

Get rid of the "Click to Enter"

and just show the content after you click it. That whole extra click is worthless and makes the initial impression underwhelming.

The logo is a little bit too happy.

Facebook limitations.. if not for that "click" all images are cached and all content is static... No way around that unfortunately.

Logos and artwork are pre-existing .. no clue where they come from ... imagine that they don't suck and go back and judge the site :D

"Damon is a wanker!"

That is also very professional description of the business.

Again... no one actually SEES this site yet (notice the 1 lone fan).. it is just to test the template... a real business would have a short blurb there... but this is just a dive bar that is being used as a testbed for some new things.

Anyone have any comments on the CONTENT and how it is being served? Does that give all the info you would want to know if you were looking for info on the bar? Too much, too little?

I'm not a barfly at all so I'm speaking from ignorance. I guess if it was me looking, I'd also like to see....

Do they have food? What types? Can I see a menu?
Does it have any entertainment? Bands? Pool table? Pinball?
Can I see a live webcam?
Do bars post prices for drinks? Maybe there are too many drinks to post. I don't know.

Other than that, it seems easy to navigate around.

No food, for bars that have food there is a menu tab.
The pool tables and other games show in the animated gif slideshow.... there is an entirely different template for bars that are big music venues
No chance for live webcam.. opens a can of liability worms...
And there are too many prices to list BUT the specials have their own tab with prices... (if you notice, the lower right box... it shows THAT DAY'S special and if clicked shows all of them)

The guy with the tapout shirt would influence me not to go here. Same with the girl drinking directly from the bottle. So if your target demographic is middle aged college professors, you should rethink the image you are projecting.

How can it be open from 1-2pm and still have a happyhour till 7pm?

Theres a lot of blank space on the sides. I would make it wide as opposed to long.

Also a Facebook limitation. Facebook limits application pages to 520px wide.

Ha, no this place is a complete DIVE in the middle of Arlington TX... unfortunately, those pics get across the EXACT nature of the bar...
