View Full Version : Chiefs Help with naming a puppy
Hootie

my nephew is getting a puppy for his birthday (girl puppy) and my sister wants to name it something Chiefs related...
so think of a good name for a girl puppy that has a Chiefs theme...
Rep to the one I like best.

In all seriousness....
It's a girl puppy, so the obvious choice is "Lenny."
Most people will just assume that since it's a girl puppy, you mean "Lynnie" and you won't have to explain yourself over and over and over.

With the help of many on this BB, we nursed little Chiefy back to health. He had been stepped on accidentally by Fariba (before she was the beautiful and witty Mrs. Frankie) in my backyard. We had him for, I think, 3 months or so and when by measurement he was deemed ready to survive in the wild we released him in the wilderness that is my backyard.
I saw a small adult rabbit about a year later in my front yard. When I, on a whim, sat down and called him Chiefy he took 2 or 3 steps toward me before instinct told him to avoid humans. I really think he WAS Chiefy.

Wow. That's awesome. Very cool, Mr. Frankie.
Your experience reminds me of those two dudes who had a baby lion and, after raising him in captivity, they took him to Africa and released him into the wilds where he scored his own pride of she-lions and basically started a whole new life as a real, jungle lion. Then, amazingly, the two dudes went to Africa after a year or so to look for their lion and they found him and the lion recognized them and the lion gave them a big hug. Didn't try to eat them or anything.
It's really amazing and I'm particularly glad that little Chiefy didn't try to eat you, Mr. Frankie. A bunny bite can be deadly, I've heard.

Probably be born the the 1st week of Dec. so they won't be weaned till the 1st week in Feb.. I was gonna try and sell them at a good price but if there's very many I will probably give some away too.
They're pure bred. Gus is registered but I haven't sent Missy's papers in yet. These dogs will make great pets but they're also not to far removed from a Champion or two so they are from hunting stock if they want dogs that will hunt. I can show the pedigree too.

Thanks. I'll tell them. But there remains the matter of geography. We are in central Iowa. Whereabouts are you?

SW MO. I'd drive a pup up there if I had a place to go bird hunting but by that time I'm pretty sure the seasons over up there. It's over here on the Jan. 15th.
I've only hunted Iowa twice and we stayed in Carson both times.
It's not that far if they want a pup. I'm sure we could meet halfway or something.

So, you're looking for a female name that is modern Chiefs related? Haley is the obvious answer.

I haven't decided...Pure bred English Setter pups can run any where from $300.00 to $700.00+ a pup. Check around and you'll see that's pretty true. So $250.00 a pup. And this is my first litter so I'm new at this but I'll say that is with the dew claws removed.

Warpaint spans both the modern and the classic eras, but Haley is a good choice too.

Cool. We should probably do this through PMs and e-mails at this point. Wouldn't want to spam the board trying to sell puppies. So just PM me when you know something.

Didn't read the whole thread but name it Carl. Then when the dog pisses you off, and you know it will, you can yell "Damn it Carl".
