A pair of former Kansas City Chiefs (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/kansas-city-chiefs) players are getting hit where it hurts after Sunday's game between the Chiefs and Houston Texans (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/houston-texans): the pocketbook. According to Houston's FOX affiliate, (http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/nfl/101022-nfl-fines-three-texans) S Bernard Pollard (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/2393/bernard-pollard) and G Wade Smith (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1268/wade-smith) -- both former Chiefs -- have been fined $5,000 for infractions in Sunday's game.
Pollard was fined for a late hit against Thomas Jones (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1243/thomas-jones) pushing him out of bounds.
"I understand the people who makes the rules are trying to bring safety to the game," Pollard said, "but how do you go to a bullfight and say,'be safe?""
I gotta side with Pollard on this one. That was a very tame push in the back at the end of the play.
As for Wade Smith, he was fined for a personal foul he received, specifically a leg whip.
Also fined for the Texans in the game was LB Adelwale Ogunleye for a late hit on Chiefs QB Matt Cassel.

They were playing dirty in that game, that's for sure.

Not surprising, I guess ... considering their head coach.

Bernards penalty was weak. But I liked the call during the game tho.

It was a legit personal foul, but I don't think he should have been fined.

Yeah, you're correct. Definitely not deserving a fine there.

Agreed. Penalty worthy but a fine... give me a break.

I'd have been kicked out of the league by the way we played in the 60s .......

I'd agree 100% if it wasn't for the fact that he pushed him into the practice net. He didn't get hurt but there's still a potential for it there.

I don't like the direction they are taking football. How does Roger Goodell go away? Is he voted on or appointed?

Anyone know if the Zebra who doesn't know the difference between offensive and defensive pass interference was fined?

Pollard is just thrilled that he actually made contact.
