Chris Chambers is a healthy scratch Sunday
Posted by Evan Silva on October 24, 2010 11:59 AM ET

The Chiefs deactivated Chris Chambers in Week Six with a supposed finger injury. Coach Todd Haley later admitted that the injury had nothing to do with Chambers' inactivity.

Chambers was not on the Week Seven injury report, so it's become pretty clear that he's been benched for performance. The 32-year-old has seven catches in four appearances this year.

Joining Chambers on the sideline for Kansas City:

Center Rudy Niswanger
Safety Rashard Langford
Fullback Tim Castille
Defensive back Jackie Bates
Linebacker Justin Cole
Defensive tackle Atiyyah Ellison
Linebacker Charlie Anderson

Inactive on Jacksonville's side:

Quarterback David Garrard
Offensive tackle Kevin Haslam
Running back Rashad Jennings
Defensive end Austen Lane
Defensive tackle C.J. Mosley
Fullback Brock Bolen
Linebacker/Defensive end Aaron Morgan

Todd Bouman, as expected, starts at quarterback. He'll be backed up by Trent Edwards (thumb). Patrick Ramsey is the third quarterback.

Mike Cox! Right on. Castille never showed me anything truly impressive as a blocker, so Mike is better IMO.

Apparently, Scott Pioli didn't.

We don't even need a passing game today.

Matt Cassel could be a healthy scratch.

How can Chambers do anything though when Cassel is doing what he always does? Is Chambers just a scapegoat for Cassel?

Inactives are stupid. We're paying tribute to the 45 man roster that went out with records on vinyl.

NFL Network fantasy guy had Cassel as his number 1 fantasy sleeper for today's game.

I'd be surprised if Cassel throws for more than 170 yards.

No.

Chambers came on and put up a decent second half of the season for the Chiefs, even with Cassel last year.

He got paid, he got lazy.

Yeah this might be a 20-3 or a 13-3 type of game. And it might be the shortest game ever with how much I think Haley will run the ball.

Just wanted to put it out there.

I admit, I got a good chuckle when I heard that.

Though, I imagine with three TDs last week, he had a good fantasy week.

Cassel hardly ever looks his way anyway. It's just hard to tell with shit at QB.

He may be the most disappointing player as far as my expectations for his play as to what we got, this year so far.

Sucks because if he was giving the type of effort he was last year, he would be helping this offense a lot.

Disagree.

They probably just don't want to rush him back when they don't even need him.

It truly is. I heard that he got into some sort of mishap with Gblowfish.

I don't know why but for a second I thought that was Bill Walton.

And so much for the "Rudy Niswanger is an acceptable back up" concept.

Good centers and wide receivers in this next draft...

Just saying.

It couldn't have been. He wasn't in the locker room and in uniform.

Apparently, Scott Pioli didn't.Can't fault Scott for this. Chambers played well. Pioli gave him a contract, just as every GM would have done. It's good to know they arent fucking around with him though.

Uhhhmmm......The guy was released mid season by the Chargers because he wasn't producing, in part because of off field issues.

But I guess his character was never an issue, and no one could have guessed that he produced when his lively hood was his primary concern.

Chambers next girlfriend/stalker/wife is going to be very disappointed when the NFL paychecks stop showing in the bank.
