I lived in Buffalo for the Bills Super Bowls
Lived in DC for the Caps Stanley Cup Final loss to Detroit.
Lived in Houston for the Astros World Series loss to the White Sox
And now I live outside of Dallas. So, if the trend holds the Rangers will lose.

Have a laugh! LMAO

Seems like only yesterday that other country pumpkin, the riverdance king, dopey Papelbon and his self-absorbed wife were riding in a parade down Fifth Avenue in New York.

"I feel like I needed to be in a bulletproof car" Papelbon said "My wife is pregnant and she's getting her life threatened. It's stupid."

Pregnant and sitting on the back of a car with a very short dress on.

Take a look:

The Yankees have asked the Rangers to put Cliff Lee on a pitch count for the Series so he stays fresh for next year.

Let the Rangers sign him -- They have a ton of money. ;)

Wednesday, May 5, 2010 - Cliff Lee pitches 8 innings vs the Rays gives up 10 hits and 5 runs. Every Rays batter gets at least one hit except lefty batter Pena. Rays win 8-3.

Sunday, May 16, 2010 - Cliff Lee pitches 8 innings vs the Rays gives up 5 hits and 2 runs and loses 2-1.

Monday, August 16, 2010 - Cliff Lee pitches 7.2 innings vs the Rays gives up 9 hits, a walk and 6 runs. Every Rays batter gets at least one hit except the catcher. Rays win 6-4.

Saturday, August 21, 2010 - Cliff Lee pitches 5.2 innings vs the Baltimore Orioles gives up 10 hits, a walk, 4 home runs, and 8 earned runs.

Let me tell you something about this kid Matt Cain, he just might be our best pitcher. He is fresh, rested and ready to rock. I believe he is only 21 but if he brings his A game he is capable of shutting anyone down and don't be surprised if he does. Hope the Giants bring their bats again. GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!

Outside of Cashman, there probably isn't a GM who has taken more shit for his moves than Brian Sabean. It's just amazing if they pull this off. The same guy who orchestrated the Zito contract built a WS team...amazing.

Also the same guy that traded Liriano and Nathan for A.J. Pierzynski.

I just want to re-iterate that a team with a worse OBP and OPS than the Royals is about to win the World Series.

Congrats to the Giants. The one thing this proves is that you just have to get hot at the right time. Whether it's the 2004 Red Sox, 2006 Cardinals, or now the 2010 Giants, putting together 2-3 weeks of good baseball in October is all that matters.

GC, I told you the Rangers were ripe for this happening. There are too many bad outcome guys on that roster.

That's a load of shit. We just ran into a team with better pitching. It happens. We were the second-best team in baseball this year.

This. He also gave Matt Morris a horrible contract as well.

Who cares, the AL usually has higher batting numbers and the Giants pitching is far better than the Royals.

That's no excuse. The Royals offense was terrible. Our 7-9 hitters were worse than most everyone in baseball.

This team's best hitter was Aubrey Huff. And they won the World Series. All the credit in the world to them though, pretty amazing.

It's weird they put it up against MNF (not that they knew it was going to be a clinching game, but still)... seems like a Gary Bettman move.

No offense, dude, but you just don't know what you are talking about. Yes, the Giants have good pitching, but guys like Nelson Cruz, Vlad Guerrero, David Murphy, and even Andrus are way too prone to prolonged slumps.

The Rangers deserve a lot of credit, but the best two teams don't make the World Series every year, and the Rangers didn't even finish with the third best record in their own league, despite playing in the worst division in baseball.

But didn't trade Lincecum for Rios. THAT very nearly happened, but JP Riccardi went full retard

We're talking about five games here. Five games.

the Rangers didn't even finish with the third best record in their own league

So? We proved ourselves against Tampa and New York.

Stop shitting on the Rangers. It just makes you look like a bitter Cards fan.

I have nothing to be bitter about. We don't play one another, and our organization actually wins things.

The Rangers beat the Yankees and Rays, and deserve credit for that, but they weren't on par with those teams over the course of the regular season, the same way the Cards weren't as good as the 2006 Mets.

That's the beauty of a small sample size, though. However, you are talking out of both sides of your mouth. You're saying that five games isn't a proper way to judge the Rangers, while saying that the five games they played against the Rays and six against the Yankees do matter, and not the 162.

Look, the Rangers deserve credit, I'm not shitting on them. With that said, you aren't being realistic about what they were. Recent baseball history is littered with teams that rode hot streaks from mediocre pitchers to postseason success. Furthermore, someone who gives up on his team before the final game has been played can't come back and then the next day talk about how good they were.

You'll see this Rangers team in the postseason next year. If they keep Lee, they'll be a legit contender.

What a crazy season for Renteria.

He went from like the hottest player in baseball in April/May, and then sucked so fucking hard until the postseason, and now he is the World Series MVP.

It's quite possible you guys do make the playoffs next year. Your division is abjectly horrible. I hope you do, there are a lot of good stories on that team, as well as a former MU Tiger.

Chiefs are rolling. The Ducks are finally ranked where they should be. The Giants win the World Series and oh yea. Lincecum> Halladay / Lee. Lakers are back to back world champions going for a 3 peat. All is right in the sporting world. Just need the Sharks to win their first.

Thanks. Yea, you have one hell of a pitching rotation when Zito can't make the roster. Top to bottom they are ready to rock again. It will be interesting to see what off season moves they make. Everyone seems to think the Yankme's will do whatever it takes to steal Lee from you guys. I hope you can retain him.
