I know it is early in the season to ask this, but it appears we could have a good shot of having two 1000 yard running backs. Here are the other teams/players who have accomplished the feat:

1972 Miami: Larry Csonka (1117) & Mercury Morris (1000)

1976 Steelers: Franco Harris (1128) & Rocky Bleier (1036)

1985 Browns: Kevin Mack (1104) & Earnest Byner (1002)

2006 Atlanta Falcons: Michael Vick (1039) & Warrick Dunn (1140)

2008 Giants: Derrick Ward (1025) & Brandon Jacobs (1089)

2009 Carolina Panthers: Jonathan Stewart (1133) & DeAngelo Williams (1117)

JC and TJ will likely be the last players to have a chance to match this record without an asterisk. As once they move to two more games, you could open the flood gates.

Where would JC/TJ rank if they were able to pull it off?

This thread needs a bump.

It's going to happen, and I think they will break the record for most yards by a tandem.

Charles is on pace for 1,522 yards (holy god).
Jones is on pace for 1,229 yards.

That is fuck'n sick.

Possible probowl numbers INDIVIDUALLY...

In this case, the only thing that matters is a Super Bowl victory.

Individual and collective stats are impressive, but quickly forgotten.

I'm pretty sure that TJ agrees. I'd bet that Charles is in the same camp.

IF those numbers held true, that would easily put them down statistically as the most dominant backfield in NFL history by more than 450 yards than the closest competitor (Stewart and Williams)

Yes...they are only stats...but it would make one HELLUVA NFL films to watch in 20 years and argue about

Jim Kiick had an additional 521 yards that year.

I would say the Giants and Panthers duos are obviously most comparable due to the era. Both tough combos to stop in those seasons, but I would say these two here in KC compare well to any of those if they can keep it up. I will say that I feel sorry for the crap that Williams/Stewart are having to work with in Carolina this year. We do have a hell of a combo on this team though.

Jackie Battle needs more carries. I want 3 with 1000 yards.

Just put him in for the 2 Donks games...there is 500 yards.

The Dolphins and Steelers had thier 1000 yard duos in 14 game seasons.

The Csonka-Morris combo was just fun to watch.

Csonka would just knock you on your ass, over and over, then Morris would leave you his wake.

Then Kiick would join in and knock you on your ass.

Franco Harris, for the Steelers had a combination of power and speed that Larry Csonka just couldn't match.

Rocky Bleier was just determined, and how could you not root for that guy?

I'm not going to concern myself with how they compare to the other duos.
I'm just going to enjoy the rush.

The amazing thing is that almost all of that yardage is coming outside of the hashes.

1976 Steelers: Franco Harris (1128) & Rocky Bleier (1036) if they played 16 games they would total 2,473 (estimated)

TJ/JC on pace to total 2,751
