Yeah, the 1st one is in Indy. I havent heard is they plan on that being the permanent site or not.

1st game will likely be Ohio St. vs. Neb.

BCS rules state for the games of January 2011 through 2014, the first year the Rose Bowl loses a team to the National Championship game, that non-AQ team will play in the Rose Bowl.

Which really sucks IMO. Wisconsin vs Stanford could have been the best game of the whole Bowl season.

You are correct. Updated projections.

Wisconsin will go to Rose and TCU to Rose. The rest of the bowl selections go in order.

1. Sugar - LSU/Ark
2. Sugar - OSU/Stanford
3. Orange - FSU/VT
4. Fiesta - Nebraska/OU
5. Orange
6. Fiesta

Which could result in the Orange Bowl taking Stanford and leaving the Fiesta stuck with UConn.

The NFL is a completely different animal. You can easily define which teams make playoffs with only 8 divisions and 2 conferences. In the NCAA you have 10+ conferences with very different schedules. Where do you draw the line? How do you determine if Stanford or Arkansas or LSU or Oklahoma or Michigan State or ohio state or Wisconsin is in or out?

A playoff doesn't solve the issue. If you have an 8-team playoff and 10 1-loss teams, what do you do then? 2 (possibly deserving) teams still get left out.

NewChief
12-04-2010, 07:20 PM
BCS would work a lot better if we had more quality team play between conferences. There was some scatter graph in the NYT magazine (or maybe USA Today) that showed Top 25 teams in the 70s and top 25 teams now. It showed how often they matched up against other top 25 teams who were non-conference back then vs. now, and they played far more top-25 teams who weren't in their conference than they do now. Now all the top-25 play occurs within a conference, which makes it hard to judge how the conferences stack up against each other.

Nothing new to really bring to the table as I'm sure my statement is a "no-shit-sherlock" one... but I just thought the graph was interesting.
