I will be in KC for the weekend and rather than sit in my hotel room to watch the game, I thought I'd find out where might be a good restaurant/sports bar to watch the Chiefs/Chargers play. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Where in KC?

Buffalo Wild Wings in Liberty, Overland Park, or Independence.

810 Zone on the Plaza or in Overland Park.

If it was me I would probably stay at the hotel and watch. Not a big fan of watching game at a bar or restaurant.

I don't know what the weather is supposed to be like, but the game might be on the big screen at the P&L across from the Sprint Center... or at least on at McFadden's or any of the sports bars around there.

Shogun...looked that up online. Looks like an awesome place.
Bearcat...The hotel is near Worlds of Fun I believe...although I don't mind driving.
ChiefsCountry...I haven't experienced watching the Chiefs at a place like that with a lot of other fans (other than family), so I thought it'd be fun.

I prefer Buffalo Wild Wings, and the one in Liberty would be closest, about 10 minutes up I-435/I-35... http://goo.gl/maps/o11O

All the games are on, it's loud, there are fans from all over... it's fun. Just walk by the crowd at the front and hangout around the bar until something opens up... the bar area is open seating, so don't waste your time waiting for a table.

There are other places, like Kelso's in North Kansas City, and the 810 Zone, even 54th Street Bar and Grill... but with the exception of 810 Zone, it's just not the same atmosphere as BWW.

Which one is better?

I prefer the one in OP, but I've only been to the one on the Plaza once or twice... the one in OP seemed to have more TVs and it's easier to catch all the action.

The one in OP is about a 3 minute drive up the road from me. It is nice.

If Its the same one, the one about a click north of 435? I live between Antioch and Metcalf on Hemlock in the apartments behind Cleveland Chiopractic, there was a fire there last week.

Oh I see. I'm over by Talk of the Town. The 810 Zone I believe is on Quivira. It just right up the street from my house maybe 5 miles.

No, the 810 Zone is at Town Center, closer to Nall. It's right up the street from me too.

I meant 119th street.... I'm new to OP and Olathe area...

There are three 810 zones infact... Just checked...Interesting. Only 1 in Kansas though.

Where are you coming from? What are your culinary tastes? What kind of delicious beverages do you consume? These are all critical questions in determining the best answer for you. But for now you should beat the crap out of anybody who suggests BW3 - even though I used to recommend that place several years ago.

If you don't mind driving about 45 minutes North you're welcome to join us in my gameroom.

There's an 810 Zone in Harrah's but I don't recommend it. Below average service, not as interactive as the other 2. I'd recommend Minsky's in the Market but there is a strong Bears contingency there and that game is on at the same time.

Wow, that is quite the place! Heard of your Chiefs parties by keeping up on the reading on the planet, but never seen a picture like this displaying all your TV's. Looks like a great place to watch a game!

Phobia,
Coming from McPherson. If I'm drinking beer I'd rather have something other than Miller/Bud/Coors Lite or whatever. I don't drink beer a lot but if I am I'd rather have it be good beer. As for culinary tastes, I'm open. We can usually find something that will work. As for beating the crap out of anyone, I'm thinking I should probably find a clever Mike Keck reference in here somewhere.

Well, not sure why anyone would hate BWW -- even if the service sucks, you're there for 3 hours -- but, if you want to support the local economy while drinking good beer, they have Boulevard Wheat & Pale Ale on tap, and the one in Liberty got Nutcracker Ale last week. I'm sure I'll be there Sunday though, so if you decide to show up and end up hating it, you can kick my ass... I'll be the one wearing Chiefs stuff, eating wings, and drinking beer. :D
