I can believe, I have a grand son that is 5"11, 6th grade and he is dunking at 9'2" now. His dad is 6'6" tall, I expect him to get at least 6'8", he's lanky as well with long arms and legs.

The kid is a freak. 11? Holy crap!

We had a sophomore at my HS when I was a senior that high jumped 6'10". He said he could dunk a basketball in junior high. I don't remember what grade he said he was in when that happened... or if he told me.

As a youngster I got to go to a few KU basketball games and loved it when Tyke Peacock was on the team. Talk about a guy that could jump out of the building. He won the World Track and Field high jump championship after his senior year of HS... I think, maybe after his freshmen year at KU. Anyway, he won.

We were in awe watching him warm up for games. Amazing hops! I've never seen anything like it before or since. He was a quasi KU track team member and there was a Big 8 track meet at KU. He passed until the bar got over 7 feet. He won with a jump of 7'4" IN HIS B-BALL SWEATS! I think that may have been his only jump in the meet, too.

Has he committed to KU, yet?

I could dunk in the 7th grade on a short hoop too. Go ahead and start a thread when he dunks regulation.

I'm confused though - is he a 6th grader or a 7th grader? You seem confused as well.

I could dunk in 8th grade. I was 6'2" at the time. I was also a high jumper.

By the time I was in 10th grade I could pull off reverse dunks and then eventually 360's.

I was 6ft in 8th grade, I could touch the rim, but couldn't dunk.

By the time I got to HS jr year I could dunk a womans ball (barely). I couldn't ever dunk a men's ball.

But that kid is freakishly big for just 11yrs old.

I played a team in the regional AAU tournament out of Whichita that had two players that could dunk in 6th grade. One tried to dunk during the game, but missed. This was about 20 years ago.

I don't think the kid in the video is his grandson.

How about the other kid on his team that is trailing the play? Shoot, that dude must be 6'10". Is the 11 year old playing up a few levels, or is there a 6'10" 11 year old running around Arkansas somewhere?

Hopefully he does not stay lanky or get to tall. I think he will be to skinny for football if he gets to 6'6. Well at least past hs. Too many players would snap him in half at that size.

Grade lvls in arkansas are not measured by age. ie 11 to 12. This is why you 19 yr olds playing 6th grade bb. Well that and the one year wait to the nba.

I'm not confused at all, my grand son is in the 6th grade, I know what he can do. This kid from Arkansas is 7th grade at age 11, he gets very good grades, he's ahead of kids his age on grades. He has the body of a very athletic young man, well developed, muscle mass, etc. Beings as I coach in AAU ball, we have heard of him, I just never mentioned it until I seen this article.

I could dunk a basketball in 8th grade. I was about 6'1 then. By the time I was a senior, I could dunk really easy and actually won an area dunk contest.

I would take a quick pg that can shoot, pass and play defense.

dunking means nothing to me.

14 and 6'1 was the first time I dunked (in practice) on the short hop. It's a hell of a lot easier then throwing down with control all the way up.

In the next 3 years my length increased but my vertical didn't. :(

I'm short so that's why I jerk off the livestock.

Wel actually I'm 6'0 but very flexible.

I got dunked on by a 6th grader when I played little league basketball. It was an alley-opp. I just stood there in awe for a few seconds. That kid was crazy talented. Back then his parents had him in 4-5 different leagues around the city so his Saturday's were just one game after another. I think it worked out for him because he went on to play in the NBA for 13 years.
