View Full Version : Life chemo tomorrow. Would like good thoughts

first that they get the IV in one stick...I don't handle that well.

Secondly, they are experimenting with the dosage and adding a steroid before to see if they can stretch the length of time I feel good in between infusions. This is all risky as the fix for the Chron's can aggrevate the Leukemia...

just would like some positive thinking about 1:30

thank you all

Thanks. I get really nervous right before the stick and that doesn't help things. Once teh stick is in it gets easier. I have my i-pod and I generally try to just sleep till its over.

I drink a LOT Of water before I go in and that helps my veins be plump for the sticking. I hope I get the good nurse that doesnt' dig around ... that makes me almost pass out.

I hope it goes well for you, even by chemo's standards for going well. Best wishes to you and a quick recovery.

You and your family are in our prayers; I hate to hijack a thread like this, but while folks are praying for Pam, could you also remember my niece in your prayers. She is young and has Stage 4 cancer.

Thoughts and prayers to you. My mom has fought two battles with cancer and another relative has crohn's and has had to have two emergency surgeries in addition to the steroids. So I know neither is a walk in the park. I don’t know you as I haven't been around here long but know it must be tough from reading your posts. Hang in there and always remain optimistic. Things will get better.

You did not give cancer the right,
To invade your body like a thief in the night.
This is your body and with all of your might,
You will prevail with one hell of a fight.
The cancer inside, You will battle and kill.
That is your body's God given will.
To your cancer, these words we all send.
Your life is short and near the end.

Stay strong. Keep fighting and dont you back down. Not one ****ING inch. We're all praying for you.

She got it in one stick (with a little digging grrrrr) and so far the sickness is minimal. Feel more like sleeping and very tired and dragging...
