Not really. They were a .500 team last year, but I can't imagine ever looking at the schedule this year and thinking they were a good choice for a prime time game.

The funniest thing regarding the Panthers this season is something I thought of last weekend.

The Broncos lost by 30 to a team a couple weeks ago (AZ), then the following week that same team was an underdog (2.5 points I believe) to the 1-12 Carolina Panthers. Congratulations Donkeys, you are THAT fucking terrible.

This game is on tonight so people can get excited watching the Steelers beat the Panthers like Clarence Kay's girlfriend, and then on Saturday the matchup is Dallas and Arizona, so (based on preseason thoughts) people could get excited watching the Cowboys beat the Cardinals like Tom Cable in a coach's meeting. I think the NFL figured that a Pittsburgh-Dallas Super Bowl was a good bet and wanted to get them some exposure beforehand.

It could be a lot of things.

Clausen could be a dick, Steve Smith is a cancer, and they've rolled over and died on their coach. They've also had a ton of injuries. DeAngelo Williams is out of the year, Otah has missed a huge chunk of time, and they have absolutely no WR, save for the aforementioned Smith, who has only ever been able to run about three routes anyway.
