Cassel got fucked. He's played MUCH fucking better down the stretch than Manning or Rivers. More of a chip for the guy to prove douches wrong, I guess.

Hali got fucked. He's a monster while Suggs has been whiffing it.

Glad to see Tony G got in. Merriweather in is a joke as well as McCourty. Dunno about Waters, I think some other guys on our team deserved it more than him.(lilja?)

Merriweather in is a joke as well as McCourty.

Meriweather should not have made it.

McCourty absolutely should. Not only does he have six picks and played in all but a very small handful of snaps as a starter for the Patriots, but he has the lowest QB-rating against of any CB for throws of 15+ yards in the entire NFL. He has been rock solid and is also an excellent tackler and very strong against the run.

He is absolutely a pro bowl-worthy.

I'm not real pleased about the snub of Matt Cassel, either, but look at it this way, Kansas City fans: The guy will go to Hawaii even though he wasn't voted to the team

And how do I know? Because Tom Brady is one of the three AFC quarterbacks, and tell me the last time he played in a Pro Bowl. He almost always is chosen and almost always finds an excuse not to go. Guaranteed, he doesn't make it. And I bet Philip Rivers won't, either. Nevertheless, the sure money is on Brady bowing out, especially if the Patriots are in the Super Bowl.

Yes, Cassel deserves to go. Heck, the guy has Kansas City in the playoffs, is 10-4 as a starter and has 23 touchdowns and just two interceptions over his last 10 games. But whom was he going to displace? Brady? Rivers? Peyton Manning? One AFC quarterback was going to get shafted, and that quarterback was Cassel.

But that's the bad news. The good is that this will all work out in the end. Trust me. So don't get too bent out of shape about Cassel not being in Hawaii ... because he will be. Just wait.

\congrats to Bowe, Waters and Charles

But I feel I don't watch enough games to vote

isn't the pro bowl the week before the super bowl?

He might be a fit at OLB, or he might play the same role as Wallace Gilberry, but I'm not sure that he'd be anything than a role player in this defense.

He's right on the first part, but wrong on the second part.

Players get voted in 3 to 4 years after they are no longer deserving.

It's interesting that Tampa and Seattle got shut out in the NFC, when Dallas sent five players.

On the AFC side, it looks like Buffalo and Cincinnati got shut out, but that's not a huge surprise.

The biggest inclusionary surprises to me are:

Freeney and Mathis both making it for the Colts (voters love the 4-3),
Cundiff for Baltimore,
Jason F******G Babin for Tennessee, who was useless when we had him for a few weeks back in 08 or whenever,
Marcedes Lewis (didn't think he had the name recognition),
Wake making it over Hali,
Mankins making it in half a year,
McCourty and Meriwether making it over a bunch of guys,
Pouncey making it as a rookie,
Dielman, who I thought was last year's news
5 Cowboys
Chad Clifton, who has suddenly become everyone's popular pick
O'Hara for reasons noted by others
Antrel Rolle, who I expected to be good but seemed to have plateaued at okay
Deangelo Hall, who I thought was on the career death walk

I'll have to think about exclusionary surprises.

Mankins making it in half a year,

He has certainly played at a Pro Bowl or All-Pro level since he's been back, but there's a legitimate question fo whether someone who missed six or whatever games deserves to go.

McCourty and Meriwether making it over a bunch of guys,

McCourty absolutely deserves it. Meriweather absolutely does not. Even the radio talking heads around here are laughing /shaking their heads about it.

Meriweather absolutely does not. Even the radio talking heads around here are laughing /shaking their heads about it.

I posted these stats in another thread, but worth repeating again.

Meriweather - 67 tkl, 48 solo, 0 sacks, 6 pass deflec, 3 INT for 39 yards, 0 TD, 0 FF
Berry - 85 tkl, 70 solo, 2 sacks, 9 pass deflec, 4 INT for 102 yards, 1TD, 1 FF

Forget stats. Meriweather has been regressing this year. HE WAS BENCHED FOR GOD'S SAKE.

You don't need to prove to me that Berry is better. There is NO WAY that Meriweather is the third best safety in the AFC this year. Or fourth best. Whatever the number of safeties on the Pro Bowl team is. The dude has been mediocre at best.

He is a stud. Daniel Jeremiah said that Clady has all of Joe Thomas' and Jake Long's strengths and none of their weakness. Heck, on Tebow's GW TD Clady blocked two guys to give Tebow the game winning TD.

Champ might not be Revis but he is still one of the 3 best corners in the game.

I just now noticed that Atlanta had nearly every offensive skill position get selected: QB, HB, FB, WR, and TE. Only their second WR didn't make it. You'd think they would've been leading the league in scoring by a mile if all those guys are really the best in their conference.

Dude always had the talent, just was always miscast in his role.

Seems he had it rigth because he has had a breakout year.
