What are you into?

Busch Gardens is in Tampa.
Clearwater beach is nice with some good seafood spots.
The Dali museum is Awesome.
About an hour south in Sarasota is the Ringling Brothers museum/house/etc. which is pretty cool.
There's a Yuengling brewery in Tampa right near Busch Gardens.

I just don't know if there's anything I'd call "can't miss".

Don't know about record stores.

Frenchy's (http://www.frenchysonline.com/)at Clearwater beach has the best grouper sandwich. They now have 4 locations, all on Clearwater beach, but I prefer either the original location or the salt water cafe location.

Keegan's (http://www.keegansseafood.com/) is another really good, small seafood restaurant in the Clearwater/St. Pete beach area. They were featured on Diner's, Drive-in's, and Dives a couple of years ago.

I haven't been there yet, but Ted Peter's Famous Smoked Fish (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g34607-d1105598-Reviews-Ted_Peters_Famous_Smoked_Fish-St_Petersburg_Florida.html)in St. Pete is supposed to be really good.

Crabby Bill's are everywhere and are just ok.

More expensive seafood restaurants are Salt Rock and Island Way Grill.

Also, Bern's (http://www.bernssteakhouse.com/)is a nationally renowned Steak House and a dining experience. Expensive, but well worth it.

The Ringling Bros. Museum is a little over 1hr drive from Dunedin.

John's Pass is pretty cool in Treasure Island/Madeira Beach, although this time of year it's pretty crowded down there with Northerners and Canadians. There are a couple of cool places to eat there on the water(Bubba Gump Shrimp Co and Gators) if you've never been.

You gotta go to Frenchie's in Clearwater Beach. Get their grouper sandwich. You can thank me later...)

Clearwater Beach is the best. Cheap, pretty and lots to do. Take a boat charter for fishin' or go on casino boat to see the skyline from sea. Also have boardwalk and sundown like in Key West. Good restaurants there too.
