Ok, I believe they allow up to 5 modern era players (max) and 2 old guys in - max of 7. They don't have to allow 5 modern, but they are getting to the point of having crazy talent and well deserved people wait longer than they need to wait.

What are your thoughts for this year's final 17?

Select up to 5 modern and either 0, 1 or both senior guys.

Well, double fail and screw me... forgot to click 'multiple choices' and cannot edit. If a moderator can fix that, please do...

Sanders, Brown, Carter, Faulk and Dent have to be first ballot, else the HOF is a farce.

I hope Roaf makes it in.

IMO he's still the best LT I ever watched play.

I figure Sanders is a lock as a 1st Ballot...

Roaf, Carter and Brown should both get in, as well as Sharpe. I would also give a nod to Sabol for what he did early on with NFL Films. Sabol helped make the NFL what it is today.

I think Faulk should get in also. It's not time for Martin or Bettis - they're not 1st Ballot guys to me and neither is Reid.

I don't know much about either senior candidate.

Dent, Kennedy... I think they're worthy, just not sure if I could put them in before Charles Haley.

Sanders, Roaf, Brown, Haley, Sharpe would be my 5 modern era.

Dion Carter and Brown are all locks. Thannon will probably make it although he shouldn't over Roaf. I see it as a toss up between Faulk and Bettis for #5.

That's a tough class. Good thing DT got in when he did.

Deion and Faulk are locks, IMO.

Brown is a HOFer but why should he be 2nd ballot when this is Cris Carter's 4th time?

Tim Brown in 17 seasons:
1,094 receptions
14,934 yards
13.7 yards/reception
100 TDs
326 punt returns
10.2 yards/return
3TDs
49 kick returns
25.2 yards/return
1TD
9 Pro Bowls

Cris Carter in 16 seasons:
1,101 receptions
13,899 yards
12.6 yards/reception
130 TDs
8 Pro Bowls
2x 1st team All-Pro

Do the kick returns of Brown make that big of a difference?

And this is Andre Reed's 5th time.

16 seasons
951 receptions
13,198 yards
13.9 yards/reception
87 TDs
7 Pro Bowls

Also, if Roaf isn't 1st ballot then it's a joke. He was the most dominant lineman of his time.

Haley should make it. 5 rings. Although the stats aren't great on paper, he was an unstoppable force on the field.
