Like Luv, I also have some puppies that I need to get rid of (hopefully without anitfreeze). They are 7 week old Imperial Shih Tzus.

The mother and stud are AKC registered Imperial Shih Tzus. Additionally, the stud was a show dog and of superior line. There are 2 girls and 3 boys that we have, all of which will have their first set of vaccinnations tomorrow morning.

OK, as far as cute dogs go, that's not too shabby.

Nice looking pups.

Smart, but pretty stubborn.

They are meant to be lap dogs (to warm the royal feet actually) so they are very independent and most of the time don't do tricks (besides learning to pee outside).

They do have shipping companies that ship dogs.

I will mark you down for 3 of them then.

I would be interested if you had rottweiler pups. Mine is 11 and a half and I am afraid the end of the trail is coming up. I am looking for pups born to a mother who was 2 years old before being bred. Breeding younger dogs seems to be what is causing health problems like hip dysplasia in rottweilers. Demand is too high now and that is not good for the breed. I also want one that won't get too big. Mine is about 100-102 lbs. and while smaller for a rott, she's a big dog. I am not looking for something that will grow up to look like a small black bear.

Not a breeder, so I can't really help you. We just bred our female to avoid future complications (i.e. ovarian cancer is decreased for Shih Tzus after they have a litter... or so says our vet).

Females can get pregnant so it is widely accepted that since they have "potential" to make money for the new owner that they cost more.

Depends on the breed. For shih tzus, it is becoming common place that the owner of the stud have first pick of the litter, but no monetary compensation.

Thats pretty common with an unproven stud dog.

Good luck. Hope they all get good homes.

I personally prefer the temperament of males. The rescue home inspector for my cocker cracked me up discussing the difference in personality. Her line was, they call them bitches for a reason.

Why do you think this is?

I have a male and female shepherd, and the male took about twice as long to train. Smart as hell and a great dog, but he had a bit more stubborn in him, for some reason.

^This.
Males are typically more bull headed and harder to train than females.

That was my thought, but I haven't owned enough male dogs to generalize. Always had females, as both a kid and adult, until now, of course.

IMO its the natural order males are head strong because they have balls & wanna subvert the alpha. Females tend to fall into the roll of beta quicker. Less distractions.

Dude, ya gotta think about this in human terms: Go out, pay for, and enjoy (or at least try to enjoy) the full line of services of a male prostitute. Then, pay the same amount of money for a female prostitute and see what ya get.

Yes, it's that simple.

My first try training a bird dog was with a male. He was so difficult and took so long to train I was thinking the problem was me. Then my next bird dog was a female and she took to it so much easier I never switched back.

but its not like that when you are talking about top shelf canine stock.

You cant think of it in human terms.

A proven stud is worth its weight in diamonds.

50K a year is a drop in the bucket. you get one or two litters a year out of a bitch. peanuts.
