Not both every year, but the highest rated MWC/CUSA Team in the BCS rankings at the end of the year will Automatically Qualify.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

Beginning in 2012 the Mountain West Conference and Conference USA will become joint automatic qualifying conferences for a Bowl Championship Series berth. The BCS Board of Directors have voted that the Mountain West Conference Champion or the champion of Conference USA will earn an automatic invitation to one of the five BCS bowl games. The team chosen to represent these conferences will be determined by the current BCS ranking system. The team with the highest ranking out of these 2 conference will receive the berth.

The agreement calls for the Mountain West Conference to expand to twelve teams and hold an annual championship game.

Expect statements from both conference commissioners in the coming days as well as announcements of which teams will be added by the Mountain West Conference.

The Mountain West Conference was founded with eight members in 1998.

If Missouri ever wants a conference championship in any (major spectator) sport aka bball/fball......this may be their chance to go to the Conference USA. There's little chance of them ever doing anything in the Big12 as long as Texas,OU,Kansas(bball) are there.

This better be fake. We already have the pain of having to watch a Big East team play in the BCS. No need to add weaker competition. If anything we should do away with the Big East and ACC berths.

The Mountain West Conference is 3-1 in BCS games (wins over Alabama, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh). It's one loss was to Boise State, who is now joining the MWC and is 2-0 all time in BCS games.

At the same time, though, TCU is joining the Big East.

Point being is that the MWC isn't a weak brand of football. People just like to think that because that's what the newspaper's tell them. TCU is in the MWC next year, by the way.
