View Full Version : Other Sports Dear Nate - OTL story on Oklahoma State player and plane crash 10 years ago
Mr. Plow shared this link in the KU thread. But I thought this deserves a thread of its own. What a great story. I have 2 boys and I'll be honest, I had a very tough time getting through this. It is a long piece, but trust me when I say that it is well worth the read.

I read that a couple of days ago. You'll need a box of Kleenex to get through it.:deevee:
Seriously, you could feel the Father's pride and pain in those letters. Makes me take a look at yourself if you are a Father.

The part they did last night and this entire deal was awsome. Very humbling and a great story.

Good read. Thanks.
Yeah, I read this at work. I'm glad nobody came by while I was reading this.

I had to stop reading at several different points in this story since I was at work and didn't want anyone ask why I was crying at my desk.

It is definitely tough to get through. Wife saw me reading it last night, I just said "Shut up....you'll get your chance." She laughed a bit as she walked off.
Later in the night, I said "Here ya go....enjoy" and she read through it. Crying the whole time. I felt vindicated.

Was it one of the players or someone off the staff?
Either way, sorry for the loss.
In any case, I guess we can all take away a message from this. Enjoy the time you have with your loved ones. You just never know when they could be gone.
