I didn't realize this, maybe I'm just a bad football fan, but many Packers players themselves didn't know.

I always thought it stood for Georgia. Isn't that where they got the logo?

Wow, Donald Lee (#86) doesn't sound like a very bright man. Might just be me, though.

No one on the team even knew what it was. I always assumed Green Bay. Next I'll hear the C on Chicago stands for Cuntler.

This is such bullshit. If they were the Milwaukee Packers they wouldn't have the G logo. It stands for Green Bay, but the guy who made it probably mentioned to someone it stood for Greatness and it became an urban legend.

What a load of crap. That's basically saying if the name of the city started with a different letter, they would still have used the G, which is bullshit.

The Packers hold the trademark on the "G" logo, and have granted limited permission to other organizations to utilize a similar logo, such as the University of Georgia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia_Bulldogs) and Grambling State University (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grambling_State_Tigers).[38] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Bay_Packers#cite_note-37) Adopted in 1964, the Georgia "G", though different in design and color, was similar to the Packers' "G". Then-Georgia head coach Vince Dooley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vince_Dooley) thought it best to clear the use of Georgia's new emblem with the Packers.
