Yes it counts. Everyone will have replacement players, so the playing field will have been equal.

Why wouldn't it count? And why wouldn't the winning teams fans have bragging rights?

With the Chiefs luck the lockout would end after they went 16-0 and then they would lose at home in the playoffs to the Steelers. LMAO

Why would there be replacement players in a lockout?

It happened in 1987.

oh hell no
I will be singing the praises of our genius coach to take 53 off the street and beat everybody else's 53 scrubs

just proves superstars can beat a great coach
with a level playing field the golfer wins

Maybe a strike wouldn't be that bad after all. A year with replacement players might be the only chance I"ll get to see the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, although that team we had in '87 was probably the worst of all the replacement teams.

I would be ok if the lockout happens and there is replacement players. I think that would be pretty interesting. Hell, bring on some local ex college players that we used to love.

Todd Reising for QB!!!!!

Confusing poll, but yes, it counts and no, I wouldn't talk shit to people about it.

2 of the Redskins' Super Bowl wins were in strike-shortened seasons, does anyone think any less of them?

I'd be fucking insufferable if the chiefs ever won the super bowl. seriously, I'd be a huge dickbag (replacement players or not)

I loved the games in 1987 with the replacements. Its proved it was about the uniform not the players.

Pioli Zombie

The Chiefs wouldn't have a problem replacing Cassel. All they need to do is go to any outhouse, scoop out all the that blue and brown crap mixture, and pour it into a uniform.

Now this is funny. And sadly, probably true.

Can anyone explain how on Earth it wouldn't count? When you think about it, it's already kind of absurd to get wrapped up in the accomplishments of other people (The Chiefs players). Does it make less sense to take pride and excitement from the accomplishments of a replacement batch?

If they're players hired by the Chiefs to play football then they would be every bit the Superbowl champions as any other year. What's the difference?

I don't think it would count, not professional players. We could say we won the replacement bowl. It wouldn't be a super bowl though.

The moment they get paid to play, they become professional.

But most of them will be players that have already played professionally on some level elsewhere.

I wonder how that would effect fantasy football? I can just see the addicts studying up on all the replacements. "Oh man, I only got 22 pts from McGillicutty!!!!!!!"

Well imagine if a team was so devastated by injuries that they had to sign a ton of FA's off the street; like, Rohan Davey was playing QB, throwing to Kevin Curtis and Freddie Mitchell, handing the ball off to a recently paroled Maurice Clarett. If THEY won the Super Bowl, it'd still count. In fact, it'd be more impressive.
