Vikes franchised Greenway instead of Rice meaning he's available.

He won't be really available until March 3rd or whenever a CBA is worked out.

Hasselback on sportscenter was saying the chargers were a great fit.

I don't see why KC can't move on this guy. He's great.

I hope the Chiefs overpay for Sidney Rice. He has only had one good season and three below average seasons. The 2009 Brett Favre doesn't play for the Chiefs....

Spags called, he wants his WR.

Well, we're not getting him period.

Even then, why are you a Rice hater? Sometimes it takes players years to "arrive". That 2009 Favre year got Rice into his groove, and the following year he got injured. Of course, that was his own fault not taking care of surgery before the season started. But still, it's unfair to count his previous years as bad seasons and have that reflect the kind of career he's going to have.

Don't be bitter Rod Woodson joined the raiders staff instead of signing with you guys. I know you think hes got another 3-4 good years left.

I wanted KC to draft this kid when he came out of college which of course means they won't sign him now.

One thing I don't like about Rice is that he has only played 16 games once his whole career.

what's truly sad or telling about this is the 6 games he played this season coming off an injury (with bums like Joe Webb and T-Jax throwing him the ball for most of those games) he still had more yards and touchdowns than any WR2 on the Chiefs.

KnowShit hates on Syndey Rice, but talks about Jabar Gaffney like he's the next coming.

Get the fuck out of here, puke. This thread is for real football discussion.

It's like the nba.

It always seems like its the same teams in it for the big time free agents...

The Chiefs are never one of those teams. At least haven't been for a while.

I like Rice, but he has been injury prone, and that has to be a concern.

Jabar Gaffney isn't a burner or some great physical specimen but he is an excellent route runner with excellent hands that any team would love to have on their roster. I have never said Jabar Gaffney was anything but a very good, reliable WR.

And he's not in the same strasophere as someone like Sydney Rice, who has better hands and more athleticism. And for the record, Jabar Gaffney is NOT a very good WR.

The charges have WRs coming out of their every orifice. I can't believe some of these NFL "analysts" actually get paid!

Took the words right out of my mouth. V. Jackson, Gates, Floyd. Not to mention, Legedu is a better WR than anyone on our roster outside of Bowe & he's their #3. Why in the hell would Rice be a good fit in SD unless they lose one of the aforementioned WRs?

Rice would be the perfect compliment to DBowe and wouldn't require giving up a draft pick.

This makes way to much sense to happen.

No shit. It really isn't that hard to imagine any decent WR being a good fit with Rivers as the QB.

Rice is only 24 years old and spent last year recovering from a hip injury. Also, when did 31 catches and a 12.8 YPC become below average for a 21 year old true rookie WR?

The dreaded transition tag (assuming it survives the new CBA).....

It will interesting to see whether Pioli signs anyone of note.

part of me really doubts it ... i still think we are just going to sign "filler" type guys and use the draft.
