Well it probably doesn't take an expert, given all the activity across the pacific fault lines, it's probably not a stretch something will give eventually.

If this was to happen it could be very crippling to us.
Thought there a couple of nuclear power plants on the San Andreas fault. IIRC they are both set up to handle up to a 7 magnitude quake.
What about the oil refineries out there? Haven't heard about thier positioning and what they are rated to withstand.

Ya, saw this the other night. Same guy who predicted the 1989 San Francisco earthquake.
So it is either going to be on the San Andreas fault, or up in the Oregon area?

A geologist......out of many.
That said, it only makes sense with the basics of plate tectonics that when plates are moving and pushing against each other hard enough to cause the events in japan, that other areas would also be affected and have increased plate pressure. It's not ridiculous to think that there would/could be an increase in volcanic or seismic activities in the timeframe following a significant earthquake event.

What ever happened to that earthquake I was promised? I bought a lot of land in Arizona some SPF 70 suntan lotion and some surfboards and I got nuttin here. I was told 3 days damn it and its been way over a week!
The super moon was gonna cause it to happen. I was told I of all people should know it was imminent.
