As for me, it would probably cause a lot of little changes. First on the financial side, I wouldn't be paying for NFLST, and I wouldn't have an urge to spend a ton of money making the trek to Arrowhead. That's probably worth $500 or so at a minimum.

Given that, I'd probably try and get into the other sports I follow more. I'm a casual Rockies fan and a reasonably big Avalanche fan, so I'd probably spend some of that extra cash going to those games instead. It's a lot easier to go to games locally after all, so I could probably stretch that $500 savings into at least 4 or 5 games for the other two sports.

If the whole mess happened to stretch into November, I'd also have more time on the weekends to hit the slopes, which is quickly becoming an obsession of mine.

On the negative side, football presents a lot of social opportunities, so I probably wouldn't get together with people as much on the weekends. Or drink as much, most likely. :)

Anyway, it actually doesn't sound all that bad when I really think about it. That said, hopefully I'll be forced to watch football anyway.

Over the past 4-5 years, I've gotten into college football more, to the point that I prefer watching several college games on a Saturday afternoon than flipping between the commercials on Fox and CBS on Sundays. I'd rather watch an NFL game on the DVR if I'm not there, and only spend 1.5 hours watching it.

I'll save a few hundred dollars going to games, and I'd probably end up at BWW more on Saturdays... and hockey roadtrips will start at the beginning of October, so there will be plenty of other stuff to do.

I will miss football, but I think with the amount oftime people put into the NFL - three/six hours Sunday, maybe even 9, then 3 Monday... We could do a lot with that time. No clue what I would spend it on, but think what you could do with 12 more hours in your week?

I doubt the NFL will have to win people back like baseball did gradually. But maybe we will think more about what is important before we blow 9 hours as a couch slug sundays...

The thing is, any games they schedule for Sundays will be at risk of having to be moved back to Saturday if an agreement is reached by the NFL, which I have to think could pose other scheduling and logistical complications. Unless the season gets officially canceled at some point I don't see that happening.
