I'd have to say he didn't go nearly far enough talking about himself. That was unbelievable. LMAO

Heh heh heh - heh heh.

I can't imagine these guys were a big budget operation but it looks like $33 will buy a remote control to be used with a camera. Now, that's the wired version and I didn't see any wires laying on the ground so maybe they spent like $85 for a wireless remote control or something.

Not only that, but most of what he's doing there is muscle memory. Those targets are something that he set up. He's not doing any aiming, he's just firing. I'll bet he's fired thousands of rounds at that very same precision distance.

Let somebody else put those targets out there at random heights and distances if you want me to be impressed. ;)

He is very, very fast though. That's something.

Something fishy here methinks....

Here's his shot from the side... angle looks low...

http://img852.imageshack.us/img852/9936/sideshot.jpg

Here he's clearing aiming at the cameraman/tripod, not the balloon:

http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/5039/shootthecamera.jpg

And here, the smoke from his second shot is 3 ft out of the muzzle already, and the balloon is still sitting there unpopped. Must be a pretty slow bullet...

I see lil to no recoil. My guess, his hand loads have # 9 shot in them.
45 long colt ,cowboy action = 15 to18 grains of FFG black powder. Something like corn meal for filler, 1/8th ounce of # 9 shot with a wax pill on top to hold it all together.
Nice load for busting balloons.

His bullet travels so slow he has to shoot two inches above the ballooon to compensate for drop which makes it even more impressive.

As a dedicated scientist now fully committed to pursuing a new career as a balloon animal creator, I would be much more impressed if this guy could whip out a balloon hippopotamus in two thousandths of a second.

According to the manual included in the balloon animal kit I purchased online, the balloon hippopotamus is the most difficult and time-consuming balloon animal known to man. I haven't gotten that far in the manual yet since I'm still working on balloon giraffe, but based merely on a quick look at the instructions for balloon hippopotamus, I'd be surprised if this dude could crank one out in less than 10 minutes.

He is quick, but is firing at balloons eight feet away with just powder all that amazing?? Maybe if he put out some cans and shot them with bullets..

Just seems to me the powder as long as you were remotely near that short would pop a balloon.

The dude does a ton of other trick shots. I believe the point of this exercise is not the accuracy but the speed. This guy hits a can with his pistol from 350 yards iirc, and definitely shoots coins out of the air.

My brother killed a prarie dog at 225 yards with his Kimber .45. It took two shots, the first was about 10 yards off but the second killed him dead. Got two witnesses other than myself. I'd say part luck, yes , but I've seen him do some incredible stuff. X marine sniper.

Yeah, Bob Munden is basically a living legend.
