In 2001 I was a 20 year old Idiot. My friend Danny was a huge baseball fan
not Nessessarily a Royals Fan. Me being the drunk I am started pounding beers and
called my friend Danny's home and left a message. Get Your ass here we are
Watching the "****ing Royals" Well his family heard that, luckily they understood my
excitement. I don't remember alot about this era of my life. I remember Jermaine dye's good
arm and his blackness. I remember Tucker being delt for Dye, then tucker coming back.
This was a game against the Indians. So we drove, now the other two guys I was with, I don't think
they were drinking, the real hardcore drinking and other issue abuse really started with my crew after
we were solidly 21. So we get down there and Danny keeps on saying how Kenny Lofton can do it all,
field hit and throw, I think this was lofton's second tour of duty with the indians at this time.
Anyway Randa went deep this game, and John rocker was a major star at this time because of the wrong reasons, when rocker
came into the game, the workers at the K put up a red tape line around the first couple seats on the 3rd base line
to keep people from RUNNING down and shouting at him. Of course people boo'd him when he warmed up in the bullpen.
I am not sure most of the people even knew why we were booing him.

That is funny. Choo was robbed of a hit by the rulebook.
When a preceding runner is put out on a force play, even if its a 7-5 force and its silly to think the left fielder could have thrown out the batter, by rule the official scorer is required to assume he could have and score it a fielder's choice.

None of our hitters have any type of approach against Tomlin. It's true that Tomlin has stayed out of the middle of the plate and has hit corners, but as a hitter, you have to have a plan at the plate. These guys don't tonight.

If he didn't go immediately, he should have held up. Plenty of time to waltz in if its a hit.

Unless he fucked up, it was probably down angle, which means he runs on anything on the ground in the infield past the pitcher.

I know, but he should've been 4 or 5 steps off of second on that. With the carom off of Sizemore, he had time to make it.
But there were no outs, so I kind of understand.

Melky has been a pleasant addition to this team...
The attributes that stand out about this team consist of 1. Speed. 2. Arm strength 3. Chemistry.
Although they don't always put it all together, they will usually make things happen when it counts.

A week ago, I was willing to entertain the possibility that Freddie Patek may be the best defensive SS in team history. I can say without reservation that Escobar is already the best we have ever had. 19 games is enough to say that he is heads and shoulders above anyone, and he deserves to win the Gold Glove this year.

Patek was a technician.
Escobar has better range and is more athletic, with the ability to make spectacular plays.
